A comment on the problem "Exporting a long session fails after many hours" in Clearleft:
i don't really think you should mark this as solved until the update is shipped and we can see that it works, do you? – leisa, on November 22, 2009 13:01

I'm having this issue too - I don't have enough room on my macbook for all this video so I record to and export to my external hard drive (which is a Lacie connected via firewire).
I've sent a few crash reports today and yesterday - is the official word that exporting to an external hard drive is no go?-

leisa replied on November 22, 2009 12:54 to the question "35GB project exports into unplayable 4kb .mov files" in Clearleft:
I have a similar problem, have just spent the better part of two days trying to export six sessions varying in length from 15mins to 45mins each, the outputted files look like standard .mov files but vary in size from 232MB to 20MB, which seems odd. I just went to try to open the files to see if the larger or smaller ones per problematic, assuming that one or the other were, and I'm getting the error message 'this is not a movie file' as reported above.
an urgent reply would be greatly appreciated - as you can imagine, these files represent deliverables to my client and I need to get them done ASAP.-

leisa replied on July 28, 2009 14:53 to the problem "Synching issue with Vimeo makes video unusable - codec incompatibility??" in Clearleft:
ok. I exported the .mov as a .mpeg and uploaded it to Vimeo and it runs fine.
ref: http://vimeo.com/5800817 (mpg version) vs http://vimeo.com/5799130 (mov version straight from Silverback)
it would be very nice to be able to use Vimeo without the extra re-exporting step.
leisa replied on July 28, 2009 13:25 to the problem "Synching issue with Vimeo makes video unusable - codec incompatibility??" in Clearleft:
version is Version 1.1.1 (306)
not sure what you mean by output settings - pls clarify and I wil provide
the file that is outputted runs fine in Quicktime locally, it just falls apart when I upload it to Vimeo, which (apparently) suggests that it is a codec issue.
Vimeo code requirements are: Choose H.264 for the video codec. Choose AAC for the audio codec.
How does that sit with Silverback's codec selection?
Have you tested to see if you can replicate my issue at least?
leisa reported a problem in Clearleft on July 28, 2009 12:55:
Synching issue with Vimeo makes video unusable - codec incompatibility??I'm having some massive issues with the synching between the two video elements (webcam and screencapture) when uploading to Vimeo, to the point that the posted video is useless.
It has been suggested to me that this is an issue with codec - is this a known issue? are their any solutions? help!-

just wanted to put my hand up and say that I'd be very interested in the ability to project cashflow coming months - all I want is the ability to create 'proposed' project and associate a budget and schedule against and perhaps a % probability of sale, then I can look at when invoices are expected to fall due in the future and estimate (roughly) what my cashflow would look like.-
