Sorry, haven't had coffee yet. :) Just saw "FTP sync" and assumed you were referring to the sync feature in Transmit.
Indeed, in Coda, if you right-click on a folder in the Remote file listing, and click "Download", that folder will be downloaded to the current local folder.
However, if you go into the folder, select all the files in it, then right-click and choose "Reverse Publish", Transmit will download all of those files to the right place. It will even create the enclosing folder locally, if necessary.
But for a future version, we'll look into an option to directly reverse-publish a folder.

Perhaps I'm not totally understanding what you mean, but it's just as easy to do a download sync in Transmit as it is an upload sync.
You can navigate to another local folder, then sync. Or if this is a hassle, you can set a Local Path in your favorite, and Transmit will automatically go to that folder when you connect to that favorite.
Let me know if I'm off the mark here...

This has been requested before, and we'll be considering it for a future version of Coda.
In the meantime, here's a workaround:
1. Go to the Keyboard & Mouse panel in System Preferences.
2. Click on the "Keyboard Shortcuts" tab.
3. Click on the "+" button to create a new shortcut.
4. Select Coda as the application, enter "Encode Entities" as the menu title, and set it to whatever shortcut you like.
5. Relaunch Coda.

Les replied on July 23, 2008 23:43 to the question "Text Highlighing Issues" in Panic Inc:
The commenting issue is known and fixed for the upcoming Coda 1.5 release. So, we can cross that off the list.
I'm not so sure about the latter issues.
Commenting large blocks of HTML in PHP/HTML syntax mode works fine for me in Coda 1.1. So I'll probably need an even more specific example. In other words, give me a full page of code, tell me exactly what block to select and comment out, tell me exactly where to type the "è", etc. The more closely we can mirror what you're doing, the faster we can solve the problem.
I'm not sure what you mean by autocomplete not working with single quotes. Tell me exactly what to type in and at what point I should be noticing the problem.
Feel free to email any code samples directly to les@panic.com if you like.
Thanks again!

Improvements?? Never!
Yes, we have some planned fixes/improvements related to text highlighting, but can you be more specific? What modes do you have issues with? Can you show us some example code that causes the issues to show up? That way we can determine if your issues are known issues or not.
Thanks!
