A comment on the idea "place things freely" in Yola:
I'm glad to hear that you have found this information to be what you needed. Please keep in mind though, while you can push the widgets outside of the content area, it is not advisable to do so as this may cause your viewers to have to scroll back and forth to see the content on your website. The content area that we have defined, is the optimal viewing range for most of the users. – Sanja, on December 18, 2009 13:57

Hello Sue
I'm glad that you were able to find a way to resolve the issue.
Here's how to embed a midi file into your website.
1. Upload your .mid file to your file manager.
2. Drag and drop an HTML widget.
3. Copy and paste the following code:
<EMBED SRC="resources/yourmidifile.mid" WIDTH=0 HEIGHT=0 AUTOSTART=TRUE VOLUME=50></DD></CENTER>
Replace "yourmidifile.mid" with the name of your midi file. You can also adjust the volume from 0 to 100.
4. Click on "OK".
5. Save your page and then update your site.
Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

Hi Sue
Laura is currently offline at the moment. Thanks for giving us the information. Can you please try a couple more things to see if that will do the trick?
1. Make sure your Flash is updated: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewC...
2. Enable Javascript: http://www.google.com/support/websear...
3. Try in a different browser such as Firefox. This is free to download: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/...
4. Reinstalling IE8.
Please let us know how this goes. Thanks for your patience as we try to work through this.

Sure I can still try to set this up. Now.. just to clarify.. you are wanting me to try using the iframe script that Boomer gave you? Or is there another script that you are wanting me to use?
If it's the iframe script - I would encourage you to try setting this up on your own first as you already know how this works as per the lesson that Boomer gave you.
If it's a different script that you're interested in, then please let me know which one it is and I can try to set up an example. – Sanja, on December 17, 2009 18:09

Hey Randy.. are you still in need of me to try and set something up or is everything okay now that you realized that you're using the iframe script? – Sanja, on December 17, 2009 02:54

Hello raindorado
I'm sorry to hear that you're sad. Unfortunately, browsers will interpret codes differently and therefore render your website content slightly different from eachother.
I'm glad to hear that you've been pasting your text into Notepad or something similar. This definitely helps. Would you mind posting your URL so I can determine if there may be something else going on?
Sanja replied on December 17, 2009 02:31 to the idea "Yola: Comics/Image Navigation Interface?" in Yola:
Hello calduckmd
It is possible to allow people to browse your site by clicking on a "next" link or button on your page, instead of using the automatically generated menu. You can achieve this by using the Yola text and link editors to create this type of navigation for your site.
These are the steps:
1. Create the pages for your site.
2. Click on "Edit menu" (below the page tab) and drag all except your first (main) page "out of the menu".
3. At the bottom of each of your pages, drag and drop a text widget onto your page.
4. Add your link text or image. For example, you could have a link that says "next". You could also include a "first" and "last" link, linking to the first and last pages on your list.
5. Highlight your link text or image and click "insert link" on the text editing toolbar.
6. A dialog box will open up with all the link options. Click on "Page" and you will see a list the pages on your site. Select the one you want to link to.
7. To test that the link is working, save and preview your page.
Repeat this process for all your pages and your visitors will then be able to browse your pages in order by clicking on your "next" links, like flipping through the pages of a book.
We have an excellent tutorial which will step you through the process of creating sub-pages, here is a link: Creating Sub-Pages Tutorial.
I know this isn't the same as the Comicpress interface, but hopefully it might give you a workaround.
If you upgrade to Yola Pro, you do get a lot more flexibility as you are able to upload .js files and .htm files. This opens up a world of possibilities.

Hi Brendan
Currently, it does not seem like you have added any content yet to your site.
I'm wondering if you have not yet updated your site? Whenever you make changes to your site, remember to click on the "Update my Site" button so that any changes you've made in the Site Builder are made on your live website.
Once you have done this, I'm sure that people will enjoy checking out your site.

Sanja replied on December 17, 2009 01:25 to the question "why can't i drag a text component to my page?" in Yola:
Hello johnywhy
My favorite way of creating a really customized layout is using the 1-column layout. Then, I use the Column Divider widget (located in the right-hand sidebar) which is a great way to change the look and design of your page. You can add widgets into the two columns, or add even more column dividers inside the column divider widget.
The center divider of the Column Divider widget can be dragged to the left or right to change the size of the columns. You can also edit the margins by clicking on the Properties tab in the right-hand sidebar. You'll see top, bottom, right, left margin entry box settings displayed that you can edit to see how your text and and/or images are altered.
You can also drag over a text widget box and hit enter to control the vertical spacing between your content.
I hope this helps.

Sanja replied on December 16, 2009 19:14 to the question "why can't i drag a text component to my page?" in Yola:
Hello johnywhy
You are seeing this because you have not found the drop zone on your screen for the widget.
* Jiggle the mouse around until you see the solid green line appear on your page and then release the mouse button.
* If that doesn't work, try closing your page and opening it again.
* Try clicking the refresh button or exiting and coming back in.
* If you still can't add widgets to your page, please let us know.
Sanja replied on December 16, 2009 19:00 to the question "Making Subpages without cheap looking links?" in Yola:
Hello tommystam
Thank you for sharing with us the features you want to see with Yola. I will pass this onto our development team for further consideration.
I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say we charge 17 cents/month?
Site building and hosting with Yola is completely free of charge. There are no compulsory subscription fees and we do not put any pop up ads on your site. We even offer you a free subdomain names to publish your sites to.
The following items are available to purchase should you wish to do so:
1. A custom domain - 19.95 USD per year.
2. Removal of the Yola Link at the bottom of your page - 9.95 USD for all the sites in your account.
3. Premium style - prices vary from style to style
4. Yola Pro account - 49.95 USD per year.
However, all of these are entirely optional. You can still use a free Yola account and publish to a free Yola subdomain and a free style. All the Yola site building features and our hosting is still completely free of charge and you are welcome to use one of our free styles.
So your website can either be completely free or you can incorporate some of the paid features, depending on your needs.
In regards to placing your text and images, you can use this handy little widget called the "Column Divider". This is a great way to change the look and design of your page. You can add widgets into the Column Divider, or even more Column Dividers inside the Column Divider widget.
The center divider of the widget can be dragged to the left or right to change the size of the columns. You can also edit the margins by clicking on the Properties tab in the right-hand sidebar. You'll see top, bottom, right, left margin entry box settings displayed that you can edit to see how your text and and/or images are altered. You can also add blank text widgets to give you your vertical space.
As for needing help with your drop-down menu, we can assist you with this. Not all menu codes will be compatible with Yola as it depends on what is required to run the code. Is there a particular menu you're interested in? If so, perhaps you can let us know which one it is by giving us the URL to the codes and we or one of the forum members can assist you.
