A comment on the problem "smtp error - cannot send emails" in Mozilla Messaging:
Hi doeinda,
The best thing to do is probably to call back and have them get OE working, take good note of what they had to change to get it working. Then if you can't get TB working with those changes, or can't figure out how to make them, come back and let us know what they were and we'll see what we can do. – Lucy, on October 27, 2009 19:07
Lucy replied on September 25, 2009 01:05 to the question "Firefox Feature Bad for Business" in Mozilla:
I'm not sure what you want Firefox or Google to do here. The only reasonable thing is for their process of reviewing your site to be faster. I had my wordpress blog hacked a few times, and it was always *very* quick getting it off the list.
Why does google control the list? I would imagine with their army of crawlers it's much faster for them to rescan a site for malicious content. They have the resources to do this well, better than anyone else, really.
Why do all these browsers use google's list? Because no one else makes one/makes a good one.
The feature does allow a user to pass through to the site anyway.
IMO your webhost should be throwing its weight around to push for a quick clearing of its customers' sites. Your site was compromised and unfortunately there are consequences. As online businesses both your webhost and google should be sympathetic to your predicament.
However, I don't understand why you're recommending Firefox not use this feature. Imagine how much worse it would have been for business if all those people had been compromised rather than seeing the malicious site warning.

What version of Thunderbird are you using? Do you know when this started happening?
Might have to look into this a bit to see what's happening for others, in the mean time though I believe f5 works in Thunderbird just like it works in Firefox. When the deleted message gets stuck does hitting f5 make a difference?
Also, what is your mail layout, and how do you have the mail sorted eg by date oldest to newest?

Hi Kristy, sorry for the delay in replying to your question. It's most likely that you have some sort of malware infecting your computer. If you're still seeing this please make sure your anti-virus software is up to date. If it is, and detects nothing, or if you have none, you can try http://housecall.trendmicro.com for a free online virus scanner.
If that doesn't help, please let us know and we'll see what else we can do.

Hi John, sorry for the delay in getting to your question.
Someone else posted about this, but I can't find the question at the moment, I'll add the link here if I do.
Do you have any extensions installed? When you say full screen what do you mean? Can you walk me through the steps you take and the way you have Thunderbird set up so that I could try to test my Thunderbird in exactly the same way?
Lucy replied on June 18, 2009 19:11 to the question "When I send a link from IE6 Thunderbird hangs on the "sending message" window" in Mozilla Messaging:
Hi steve, sorry for the late response to your question.
First of all, IE6 isn't very secure, and using it to browse is leaving you vulnerable. You should at least upgrade IE if you don't want to switch to another browser.
What version of Thunderbird are you using? Has it always hung like this or did this start after working previously?
Lucy replied on June 18, 2009 19:05 to the question "Why won't Thunderbird open and stay open?" in Mozilla Messaging:
Hi Ron, sorry for the delay in replying to your question.
You can see if Thunderbird will start in safe mode:
1. click on the start menu
2. choose All programs and find the Mozilla Thunderbird folder
3. click on Mozilla Thunderbird (Safe Mode)
If this works properly then something in your profile is the problem. Usually an extension. You can go to tools -> add-ons in safe mode to check for updates and/or disable all your extensions that way, then restart Thunderbird normally. If it still works, then turn your extensions back on one at a time to see which one was the problem. If there were any updates for your extensions they might fix the problem as well.
If safe mode doesn't work then it's most likely a problem with a pref. Let me know and I'll walk you through how to check that next. Unfortunately the account settings are also stored with the prefs, so just resetting them all means you'd need to set your mail back up which is possible but a little tricky.

It looks like the best option currently is to use a Thunderbird extension

If you still need help with this issue I"d like to see what I can do. Are you accessing gmail through POP or IMAP?
If it's POP have you tried compacting the folders?

Sorry for the late response to your question.
Here's a developer doc about the index files https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Mess...
If you need further help with your question you probably want to ask it in the mozilla.dev.apps.thunderbird newsgroup which can also be access as a google group.

Lucy replied on June 08, 2009 21:35 to the question "Can't click on links in body of Thunderbird email" in Mozilla Messaging:
Ok, got a few questions for you guys who are seeing this problem
1. Just like Jose did, please make sure links from other programs open Firefox just fine. You can even go to the start menu on XP choose run, in Vista just type in the search box http://www.google.com if that doesn't work either follow instructions here http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/S...
2. When links don't open is Firefox already open or no?
3. Do you get a blank tab, or does nothing happen?
Jose, please try following the instructions anyway. They will be the default programs, but something in the registry might have failed. Setting them as default *again* will fix this if that's what happened.
