Also reported as both a question and a problem. We are trying to get everyone on version 4 but everytime we get real close to stable something like this which is dead obvious goes wrong on an upgrade. Assuming they fix this and don't break something else I think I am done with upgrades. Simply can't have new things go wrong when trying to prepare.-

Using the template approach is working too bad for me. Does not take long to create a template, set as default then bring in the files. Assuming ok with the same transtition and other characteristics for a group.
Of course new issue since latest build is you can only add files one at a time into a section. I often have 30 and more slides that I need to add and doing one at a time is simply a waste of time. Last I looked was not been accepted as a problem. – Martin, on September 08, 2009 22:37
A comment on the problem "Problem adding multiple items to script section." in MediaComplete:
Use it so I can collapse the section and see entire service. With over 60 slides often for the sermon alone it takes a lot of real estate. Besides getting tired of things that work fine before an upgrade and then break. – Martin, on September 03, 2009 04:13
Martin asked a question in MediaComplete on September 03, 2009 02:26:
Multiple items into section at one timeCan't add multiple items to a section. Only the first item goes into the section the rest end up going after the section.

Probably only got one with the trial version and can't remember the name. There are a lot on mediashout store http://www.shoutable.com/index.asp?Ca...{D73D07F0-4CEVEREST23-4155-BD74-4605CE04FE6B}
Lots of other sites as well google motion backgrounds. They can range from a couple of dollars to over ten for a backgroun. Ofen you can buy packages a little lower, still others have a montly membership.
These guys have a few free ones to get you started.

A comment on the question "Setting transitions for entire section" in MediaComplete:
Usually the section is either a announcement slides which is like a slide show or the sermon which we do as pictures exported out of powerpoint because the text capabilities of MS is too limited. So say I want to use a different transition for the group - well if I select all the slides in the group I can not do edit cue at all. I found that at least changing the template and bring up one slide at a time and apply template is a little less painful. – Martin, on July 15, 2009 15:51
A comment on the problem "White flash at start of songs" in MediaComplete:
I left this for someone and worked for him - give it a try
Peter did you check the transition speed on both the background and forground. I found by default it was setting the background at a value of 0. Once I changed that to a value of 9 the flash went away. So I am working good foreground set to transition over motion background speed 9 and background transtion as weel with a speed of 9. – Martin, on July 07, 2009 03:55

A comment on the problem "V4 does not show PowerPoint transitions correctly" in MediaComplete:
Been a while since I tried this again and still there with version 117. Not sure if was fixed and somehow broke again. Again my issue is I do a simple fade transition that works most of the time but one or two slides in the presentation will do a fade through black which is not acceptable. Funny thing is not the same slides each time so ave no idea where to even start to try and fix. Possibly everyone has done what I have done which is simply given up and they export the powerpoint to jpegs and put into a section in powerpoint. Although this works ok for simple slides you lose all the bullet point effects etc. Would be really nice to be able to seamlessly incorporate powerpoint. My understanding is you are simply invoking powerpoint API's so possible the problem is actually with their API's. If I have time over the next couple of weeks I will try and figure out what API's you are using and simply do same thing outside mediashow in .net or VB to see if same thing happens without MS. – Martin, on June 27, 2009 14:00

Grumpy today. Did some more testing based on some of the input above and suspect it might simply be the default disolve of 0 on background that is causing the problem.. Have tried several combinations of other higher values for both the background disolve (which I like because it blends the backgrounds between songs and is very effective) and disolve over motion background for the foreground so far so good. Really did not want to go back to 3.5 so hopefully it stays solid. Again the best test is two motion background songs back to back and alternate between the last slide of one and the first of the next. Cut also worked as one person suggested but does not give me the effect I prefer. Transitions are still kind of slow compared to 3.5 and have to crank it to 9 or 10 to take less then a couple of seconds.
Martin replied on June 24, 2009 23:48 to the problem "White flash at start of songs" in MediaComplete:
Went back to ms3.5 until this problem is fixed. Tried just about every workaround and still get the white flash. Tried downloading 117 build still there. With any luck will be fixed in the next week otherwise will go back to the release where this worked which is 107. It is disappointed that one of the major features of MS does not work nearly as well in MS4.0 as it did in 3.5 and seems to break in some way on every new build. Slow transitions in prior to 107 then fixed only to come back again on a subsequent release and now with this flash making it totally unusable and would need to move to static backgrounds - may as well be on powerpoint.
