Also I find the border thickness to be quite strong for the smaller border.

Your right - it's a tad off isn't it. I think the overall color system and the colors used in the app needs a closer look.

As you can see with this post, the original color was tempered down a bit to make it easier on the eyes. Many have ask for a way to control this selection color.

Your misunderstanding me here. I had set the current location on the main page to Germany. It found me some classes. When I then click to register the class, the location text field still says "Germany", but the map is not set to Germany.

Unless we change the plan, the list of locations will always be in order of distance from the users current location. This is calculated as direct line air-distance between two coordinates.
