I love the idea, but right now its not possible. :(

The search tool is built on top of SABA. All we have access to is the course title and description. I would love to add keyword capabilities, but we are limited to SABA fields.

Perhaps we can look at this as another phase of the project.

The sort order for locations near is supposed to be in order of how close they are to your current location. However this is not working as expected.

Your request to show PTC locations first is interesting, but was not a requirement we initially planned. What do others think of this requirement?

I'm surprised that it did not think you were in Needham. What was in the location text box? In another case, we have see this box have a "-," in it.

We found that the dev server were using does not allow your real IP address to be exposed. This is why we are seeing some of this problem. Our plan to move this to test and prod soon so we can really test this. We have however conducted outside tests and they looked good.

How do you think sorting of locations should work?

I think closest to location is good, but I can see an argument for listing in order of dates available. Whatever we do for main page, we must repeat for the details page.

Clicking Worldwide does not zoom out far enough. It should zoom the map all the way out.

Im now not able to reproduce this with a clean step my step process. I think perhaps the map lost its location in the POST request due to using the back button. I know the map updates with a JS fired event, so we may need to watchout for this case.

Sorting on Alphabetically loses location

Search for Design, in Germany with Language set to German. Now change the sort order to Alpha. You will see that the location is lost and you are back in MASS.

Search for "Design" with language set to German, and set location to "Germany".

You will see that on main page, locations appear as expected. However clicking one of the Register buttons loads the details page but with bad map and no actual class to register.

I'm seeing that on main page, when we list location we are not indicating that the classes are virtual based on the original design:



Are these all virtual classes? If so, then why do they have this label "Instructor-lead classess over the web with real-time video and audio"?

The link for the Stuck at office is dead and goes to a bad wcms page. I am not sure if that is a temp page, or if we linked the wrong location.

Can you let us know what that link should go to and create the WCMS page?

I know that you did some work to speed this up, but I will tell you it's still not performing good enough for a smooth flow.

Should we talk to IT and provide these queries and see if they can speed them up? I know the DBA have experience in doing this, and can even create cached data views that will make this all work much faster.

I think we need a label on the details page that says that the location listed on the map are in order of date or by location (whichever we choose).

This is based on usability feedback.

Locations on details page is not sorted correctly. Per the design, they should appear in order of the closest date. Right now there is no logic to the sort order, and it would be good for us to debate the right sorting order, as I can see location nearest sort order woudl be a good option too.

Pass thru a location

I want to be able to pass a location to the search tool by way of the URL:

/courseScheduleSearch.jsp?locationSearch=waltham, MA

Doing so should load that location in the map and overide any IP location detection.

On the main page, if I search for "Mold" you find a few courses in York, PA.

Next to the Register button is some text that lists the location. Why does the format show up this way?

USA - PA - York

I have been usability testing this and at least a few people don't understand this format.

Perhaps it should be:

York, PA, USA
