Twitter, this is unacceptable. In addition, many people retweeted the original from these imposters / plagiarists.
Your Terms Of Service states that this is not allowed. http://wakeupfamous.com/2009/06/25/gi...
Quoting from that link, according to Twitter's Terms of Service:
"Re-posting another person’s updates without giving them credit and without their permission is a violation of Twitter’s rules. Accounts re-posting others’ updates (with or without crediting the author) may be immediately suspended because:
Re-posting others’ updates, regardless of stating authorship, is a potential form of spam
Re-posting others’ updates as one’s own without giving credit to the original author is tantamount to plagiarism"
~~~~~~~~~
What are you going to do about it?
Please suspend these plagiarists and educate Twitter peeps that it is not okay to plagiarize, nor is it okay to retweet without the author's permission.
The problem with favrd is, as of late, it only collects stars that were done within the past two hours, if that. Seems to partly depend on Twitter's API. If Twitter is acting up, not even two hours is guaranteed. If you get home and star a tweet that is 8 hours old, or even 3 hours old, don't expect it to show up on favrd. It has gotten very unreliable.
twitteruser replied on July 22, 2009 23:17 to the question "Line Breaks in Twitter???" in Twitter:
I found out how to do this.
Create a document in Microsoft Word with your tweet. Show Paragraph Marks. Add paragraph marks to your tweet so that they display the tweet the way you want it to display.
Copy/paste from the MS Word document into Twitter. The tweet will look normal in your tweet stream, but when it appears on favrd it will show the line breaks.
This is convoluted, yes, but it does work!
@sarawilson0000 has not been banned not from twitter, unfortunately, but from http://revtwt.com/blocked-clicks.php?... for posting this URL: http://tinyurl.com/ms9cke which leads to the above. She posts a variety of spamming money-making URLs.
A lot of spammers try to throw twitter off the trail by posting other links. This does not negate the fact they are spammers.
Please add your spammers which have not been blocked and their URLs here!
badkitty_ replied on July 22, 2009 07:22 to the problem "We want all @ replies reinstated" in Twitter:
I am stunned to find that Twitter has changed my settings so that I no longer have any way at all to filter @replies. There is no setting to see all @replies. There is no setting to see some @replies. There are NO settings for @replies!!! I had it set to see @replies to people I follow, but now there is no longer an option for that, even. If I wanted to turn off ALL @replies, there is no way to do that.
Twitter, you have spent so much time on your stupid new crappy API and haven't given a damn about how the site works. The OLD API was JUST FINE. It WORKED. We saw our search results. We saw our @replies. Everything worked. Put it back. We don't need your "improvements."
badkitty_ replied on July 22, 2009 07:08 to the problem "Stop The Spam - Ban @billcrosby" in Twitter:
I 100%, 1000% agree with Aaron Richard. It is annoying. It does diminish the user experience for everyone. Bill Crosby, Jayemerican and other "social media marketers" with a "cause," you don't give a damn about me, you don't know a damn thing about me, and yet you're adding me and expecting me to go to the trouble to block you. I have to manually do this for each one of you f-wits that adds me. I resent it.
And Twitter had better hire full-time people to get rid of shit-bags like you, because frankly, we've had enough. The majority of users are NOT on Twitter because they care about your stupid money-making schemes. We are not on Twitter for porn bots or spam bots. We are on twitter to chat with REAL users, other people, who have the same interests we do, and I guarantee that anyone with a social marketing cause or any other sort of cause, I don't give a flying ___ how good you think your money-making scheme is, it isn't anything I'm interested in.
So you just keep telling yourself that Clickbank and advertising and spam is okay and that to use sites like Tweetlater to do it is okay and that oh golly, you actually have to spend a few minutes setting it up, but your time setting it up is nothing compared to the dollars twitter has to spend to eradicate you, and for each and every person who has to unfollow you, block you, or choose to ignore you.
badkitty_ reported a problem in Twitter on July 22, 2009 06:04:
Twitter doesn't seem to give a damn about spam bots. I had to make my updates private because so many bots were adding me.When twitter doesn't take enough responsibility about spam bots to the point where I have to make my updates private after 15 bots add me in the space of 5 minutes, I get mad. I would think twitter would have something in place besides reporting bots to twitter.com/spam , which seems to do VERY LITTLE.
Clearly twitter recognizes there is a problem, yet chooses to do nothing about it.
Reporting them to @spam is NOT a good solution. It takes too long to get bots killed, if they get killed. Twitter needs to spend more time on its API figuring out how to kill spambots and less time on things like Trending Topics and the "more" button and other API nonsense that has only made twitter slower.
When I have to make my updates PRIVATE, when they have NEVER been private, and I do not WANT for them to be private, all to avoid spambots, something is definitely wrong with twitter.
DO SOMETHING! Protect us from spam bots.
badkitty_ reported a problem in Twitter on July 21, 2009 02:04:
Twitter Search produces inaccurate, incorrect, unexpected results.Twitter Search produces inaccurate, incorrect, unexpected results. It does not show all my tweets or all references. Keywords that I expect to see in Twitter Search are missing. This has been going on since the "more" button and other API changes were implemented.
The old Twitter Search, which was a simpler search, would produce accurate search results every time. The new Twitter Search misses most search results I expect to find. Entire tweets of mine are missing.
As an example, I have done various tweets referencing Sarah Palin over the past 8 months. However, they do not show up in Twitter Search. I can google for "search term A" "search term b" (no quotes) site: twitter.com and get more accurate results than I get on Twitter Search.
I see you have noted a problem with some users not appearing on Twitter, but that is not my problem. I do appear in Twitter Search, but not all of my tweets nor all expected references appear in Twitter Search. It is though Twitter Search is missing a huge chunk of data. At least Twitter Search worked back when Summize owned it.
Need older version of PodWorks for 10.2.8I need an older version of PodWorks. I need something that will work with Mac OS X 10.2.8 and iTunes 3. Only your latest version is available from your website, and when I open it, it crashes.
I looked on your website and you only seem to offer the most recent version. I have not upgraded to 10.3 for various reasons, including problems with printing and Photoshop.
Can you please provide me with an older version compatible with 10.2.8 and iTunes 3? I have a click wheel iPod. Thank you.
