Today I tried the wizard again, and instead of it going through the stuff it did b4 then give me a key, it just stuck one in the box, and the settings did not erase or anything, and it seems to be working correctly so far TY for your help.

there are a few options that won't stay checked, are these only for the old comment system?

Include rich text editor (enable toolbar)
Allow YouTube video embedding
Support of graphic emoticons

and

Require anonymous users to authenticate before leaving comments

First of all, thanks for adding the updated site url.

This is where it gets stuck now
Whenever I set up all the settings, they disappear when the page gets refreshed.

It still says free account type in the corner, but that message box pops up.

Ok, have done both create new api, also pointed old one to the new url in the setup edit settings in facebook. Both have not changed in at least an hr, and also emptied browser cache if that matters just in case.

After that, I hit the facebook wizard and it installed a facebook app for me named jskit, however it used the old web url, the synthasite url. Nothing changed.

I edited the settings to the yolasite url along with all the origional settings, ie icons and whatnot. But still no change.

So as of now, all three applications are exact with one exception, the api keys are different.

It won't let me add site, merge or rename site in the jskit dashboard if that helps.

I've had the api key for awhile. I just happen to look tonight to try a test post and the option is not there

gotcha ty, and I have one last question.

Is the navigator and ratings system going to be incorp. into echo?
The ratings system for my site was designed for this in mind,
and it kind of stings me that I was pointing people from yola to use it on their site
when they asked for help looking for this very thing then it is going to disappear.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the need for focusing on the social echo system,
but I really hope ratings is incorporated into the code somehow and returns.

Your ratings system kicked ass! Please send out an email for the new version
I HOPE you come out with!

Still liking the echo though! Just waiting on the facebook issue to get fixed lol.

Keep up the good work, and hope to see more upgrades.

Yesterday I upgraded my site url from a synthasite to a yolasite dot com and it immediately wiped all my comments, ratings and navigator setup.

All my ratings and navigator info has reverted to a freshly installed state.

I was told to change all the synthasite urls to a yolasite url, but no change has occurred.
Manage add site will not let me add a site.

I'm wondering if something has to be merged?
Is it possible to combine the old comments and other info with this url so my info comes back?
Is there a merge site button?

Had I known this would have happened, I wouldn't have done it.

Any help would be appreciated thankyou

I've been changing links for the last few hrs now and I'm not seeing my comments and ratings restored, and the navigator is starting over like it was just installed.

Would there be an admin setting on the jskit side to tell it it needs changed?
It won't let me add new sites to manage.

I'm not sure what else to try to get all my comments, ratings, and navigator info back.

It's okay, I figured there was something to fix it, but the search I typed in didn't find what I wanted. Also a bad time consuming thing.

I'll check it tomorrow and see what happens.

I must add, It was nice that you noticed I hadn't posted in awhile?!? I mean I try to help where I can, but that you saying it, really made me feel like, ummm how to say, ummm special Ed lol, that you hadn't heard from me in awhile, that makes me feel dedicated, TY...I don't hardly get that at work!!!

If there are specifics, pls let me know, but what you are saying is that I have to change all my code correct? the http links?

AAAAAAAACK!!!

It had been telling me for along time now at the open site screen that I could upgrade to a yolasite.com address and all pre-recalling links would work. Well, I did and jskit went f'n berserk and decined all my previous info. Lost all the ratings, polls and what not.

Now granted it is not alot as my site is still under a year old, but at first glance it urinated me off, bad!

I'm just letting you know I guess, and am thankfull JS started using get satisfaction also.

Just wish it would go back to the way I had it!!! Going nuckin futz here! any ideas?

I'm Haveing kind of the same problem.
I can't post to facebook at all, twitter post works though.

I had a connection to facebook problem awhile back and you guys found a bug but I didn't know if it only had to do with just my account or not to fix it. Just thought I throw that in there if it helps.

How To Add A Custom Background For Templates That Do Not Support It

I wanted to share a discovery I had made in the last few days that I'm sure will
help some others out.

I like my kids corner style template and background, but some pages I wish I
could change the background, but this style does not offer the option to make a
custom background image or color and I'm sure there are others that have the
same issue.

I have found a workaround for this with some javascript code.
The background you have on your site will still load first, then the code calls
another background after that like a second layer if you will.

This script will run 4 or more random backgrounds. If you don't want it to
be 4 different ones, just put the same filename in all 4 spots. If it can not
find a picture, the background will be white.

This would have been the last thing I would have suspected since the menu worked in the first place. hmmm it just didn't like edit mode, I'll be dipped.

Firebug does not show me those errors while in edit mode, although I did just learn that I can correct stuff in preview mode with it if it does not look correct.

Now, lets talk about those drop frames that link all the pages together so only one page has to be edited lol

*Note for future -- Do not shortcut href url's, firefox does not like it in edit mode lol :P

It's ok Marije I knew someone would be here eventually, some of the other people where trying to help me figure out something too lol.

To answer your question, No, I haven't added anything major in a long time until the last few days.

In edit mode in firefox my buttons used to work fine then one day I logged in to move something over slightly and noticed they didn't line up like they used to and overlapped, this was awhile back so I blew it off and just chalked it up to the other problem I was haveing and was getting ready to reinstall windows.

To shorten the story, I've reinstalled my OS just a few weeks ago but that still happens and last few days have been adding stuff to my site some of which were links right under my buttons which made it a pain to do in firefox so I have to switch between FF and IE and I don't like IE lol

As in internet explore and also opera I just found out, My edit mode looks fine, but in fire fox it's all overlapped, but like I said too, it may be a problem with firefox also, but don't know and that's what I'm trying to sort out lol
