Apple should offer a 'all you can eat' streaming subscription service on iTunesI think it would be great if Apple offered a 'all you can eat' subscription service on iTunes. Basically you would pay a set amount per month (£20, £25?) and you would have access to all the content on iTunes (apart from the App Store).
The service would ideally work in a similar fashion to Spotify, where content is streamed directly from the server, rather than downloading the content to your computer (but like Spotify, you would be able to save 'Offline Playlists' to your devices, so you can access them while offline).
A streaming service means that users would not have to worry about large HD video files taking up loads of hard disk space, which is becoming a problem for some users.
This kind of service would work great when paired up with a AppleTV. Imagine having all that content from iTunes, all available to watch anytime you want, for just £25 a month? I'm sure a lot of people would ditch their Sky/Cable TV subscription for something like this!

Apple should improve the layout of reviews on the iTunes Store.Today's revamp of the iTunes Store is great, it now as a nice clean look to it, with large graphics taking center stage.
One thing that would have been nice to have been done with the redesign, is a few changes the the 'reviews' functionality.
Firstly, if you rate a item (let's say a app from the App Store) using the drop down list of available ratings, once you have selected a rating, it says 'Thank you.' next to the drop down list. The problem is that when you go back to that page, your rating isn't saved (or it doesn't look like it has been saved), as you are shown the drop down box again. Maybe Apple could change this so that when you return to the page, you are shown the rating you gave the app, with the option to change it if you wish.
Also, if you have made a written review of a app, it should also be displayed (perhaps in a section above the 'Customer Reviews' section) in a section titled 'Your Review'.
Next, in iTunes 9, on the store, in the top right hand corner, you have a drop down list of account options (Account, Redeem, Wish List, Sign Out). It would be useful to have a additional option of 'Reviews' where you can see all of the reviews you have made on a single page. You can get this functionality my clicking 'Manage Reviews' on the account tab, but I feel this should be on the account drop-down list so it's easier to access.
Lastly, you should be able to link your Facebook account to your iTunes account using Facebook Connect. This would solve the biggest problem with Facebook review, the lack of accountability that means people write stupid reviews. Facebook Connect would mean that people would post under their real names, and their photo would be shown next to their reviews on iTunes. You could also have the reviews that people make show up in their feed on Facebook, so their friends could see their reviews, and maybe purchase things from iTunes based on that.

Microsoft should make all Revision3 shows available to watch on the Xbox 360.I love watching the shows from Revision3 (especially CO-OP, The Totally Rad Show and Diggnation), and it would be great if I could watch these shows on my 360.
You can already watch stuff like 'The Guild' and 'Red vs Blue', so why not add Revision3?

Bring the Kindle to the UK!Quite simple really, make the Kindle available in the UK!
Nathan Massey asked a question in Get Satisfaction on September 08, 2009 10:29:
Does Get Satisfaction have a 'archive' function? Is there a way for a company rep/admin to archive old posts that are cluttering up their page?
The reason I ask is that over on the Spotify GS page (/spotify) there are quite a few questions asking when the Spotify iPhone app is coming out, and a few ideas asking for a Spotify iPhone app. Now that it the iPhone app is available, can these posts be archived away, so that they are still available for people to view in a 'archive' section, but don't appear on the main Spotify page?
Also, is there a way to merge posts that ask/propose the same thing?

Nathan Massey shared an idea in Tesco on September 08, 2009 03:07:
Tesco should use their new API to create a iPhone app that let's you scan the barcodes of products in-store.The Tesco API is a fantastic idea, and I can see a lot of potential in it for some really innovative applications.
One that I would like to see made is a iPhone app that uses the iPhone's built-in camera to scan the barcode of products, and will give you more information about that product. This would have quite a few useful applications,
1. Price comparison - Say you're in Sainsburys and want to do a quick check to see how much a particular product is. Just scan the barcode, and the app shows you all the details of that product, as well as the real-time price for it at Tesco.
2. Additional information - It would be great if you could scan a item and get all of it's nutritional data, or find out what parts of the packaging of the product are recyclable.
3. Related items - You could scan a pack of Pasta, and the app could suggest other items such as bolognese sauce and some garlic bread.
4. Shopping List - By scanning all the items you put in your basket the first time you go shopping, you've created a shopping list of all the item's you've bought, so then next time you go to Tesco's, you can go through the list, and scan items to tick them off you're list. You could also sync that shopping list with your Tesco.com account if you want to buy those items online.
Nathan Massey shared an idea in Travelodge on September 08, 2009 01:50:
Travelodge should expand it's 'iBooker' iPhone app to let you actually book a hotel room.At the moment, the 'Travelodge iBooker' app for iPhone, simply gets your location via GPS and shoots you off to a web page showing the 5 nearest Travelodges.
It would be great if you could actually book a room at these hotels from within the iPhone app itself, rather than being redirected to Safari.
You could have the app do other cool things like,
- Have the app show you the nearest Travelodges on a built-in Google Map. Clicking on a pin for a specific hotel on the map would take you to a page to see the full details of that hotel.
- Sync with your account on the Travelodge website, so you can see details of your future and past bookings.
- Have the details of future bookings encoded as a QR barcode which when displayed on the iPhone's screen, the person on the check-in desk can easily scan the barcode, which would bring up the details of your booking on their system.
You could actually just have a computer terminal do all that. It would scan the barcode using a camera, get the details of the booking, then give out a magnetic swipe card for your room.
- If a iPhone with RFID built-in were to come out in the future, you could bypass check-in altogether. You would be able to book the room on your iPhone, the details of the booking would be stored in the phone too, then when you got to the hotel, you just check your phone to see what your room number is, then you just swipe you iPhone near the door handle to open (kind of like using a Oyster card, but with your phone).
Nathan Massey shared an idea in National Express on September 08, 2009 01:32:
National Express should create a iPhone app for making bookings/mobile ticketing.I would find in really useful if there was a National Express iPhone app that let you book train tickets directly on your iPhone, and also stored those tickets as a barcode that can be displayed on your phone, and scanned by the conductor on the train.
National Express already have a system in place for mobile ticketing for other mobile phone, so expanding this to the iPhone would be great.

Nathan Massey reported a problem in National Express on September 08, 2009 01:26:
National Express needs to improve the reliability of the WiFi on it's East Coast mainline service. It's great that National Express offers free WiFi (and power sockets for laptops) on it's East Coast mainline train service, but i've found the connection to be very temperamental and slow, almost to the point of being unusable.
Please make the connection more reliable, and if possible a little bit faster too.

For anyone who comes across this idea, it might be worth looking at Spotify as an alternative. For £10pm you can stream any song you want to your iPhone over 3G.

Make it easier to make a playlist from a album on the Spotify iPhone app.Let me first just say that the Spotify iPhone app is awesome, i've now archived all my iTunes library onto a external drive, as i'll be using the Spotify Desktop/Mobile apps from now on.
One little request I have is that when you search for a album on the iPhone app, select a album from the results, and you get the list of tracks (with 'Shuffle' and 'Add to playlist' at the top), when you click on 'Add to playlist' you are shown a list of all your playlists, to choose which one you would like the album added to.
What I would like to see added is a entry at the top of the list of playlists titled 'New playlist', that when selected, simply makes a new playlist, with the title of the album as the playlist title.
This is similar to the behaviour on the desktop app where you can drag tracks to the '+ New Playlist' section on the left hand menu, to create a new playlist.
At the moment, if I want to do this, I have to go into my playlists, create a new playlist, then go back into search and add the album to the playlist I just created. It works, but it could be a lot easier and quicker by just having a 'New playlist' button.-
Nathan Massey started following the idea "Official Top 40 Charts Tab" in Spotify.
