The great things about the android appI have been criticizing a lot the android app, but I have to say that the desktop shortcuts are awesome, as well as the maps integration. Guys keep up the good work! (I have created a topic with suggestions of improvement)

Leaderboard on the android app disappearedSomething happened to the leaderboard on the android app. Before I could easily see it, but now I can't, I have a 404 error. I have to mention that I change city for the holidays. Anyone else has this problem?-

Superuser bookmark on mobile appVery often, I am browsing venues on the android app to see what's around. And sometimes I see things that are inaccurate, or that I would like to improve. And since the android app doesn't allow editing, I would love to have a way to bookmark those venues to be able to edit them later on my desktop.-

Very good observation, Daryl. After looking into it, I found that Dennis is working on it in collaboration with wcities. Wait and see.

A comment on the problem "Invalid phone number for venue" in foursquare:
Before you do anything, investigate a little more, because I just found a 9 digits number. I will add more info here as soon as I find "the rule". – Nicolas Belloni, on December 08, 2009 21:14
Nicolas Belloni reported a problem in foursquare on December 08, 2009 17:30:
Invalid phone number for venueIn Sweden, landline phone numbers only have 8 digits (yes it is a small country). And it seems that foursquare recognize that as an invalid phone number. So I can't add phone numbers (only landline ones, mobile ones have 10 digits) to the venues I create.

I can't edit places, because they don't have a mayor?I just got the level 1 as superuser and I can't edit some places, and I can't find the reason.
Examples: http://foursquare.com/venue/195744
http://foursquare.com/venue/195385
when I can edit this one http://foursquare.com/venue/251873
Could it be the fact that those places don't have a mayor? That's the only thing I could think of.
Nicolas Belloni replied on December 08, 2009 16:31 to the question "Food court and multiple-restaurant operations - How to list?" in foursquare:
Actually, I just realized something. I'll try to explain it clearly.
What if there was a way to link venue as a part of a bigger venue? Let's say a neighborhood? In Stockholm we have a lot of islands, and I have seen people creating the island as the venue (http://foursquare.com/venue/195234) which is kind of strange since it is hard to tie it to an address. And we could imagine that if you are mayor of some (or a certain amount of) places in the larger entity (let's say the island) you become mayor of the island. I would love to be the Södermalm mayor.
By having a larger entity, we could also solve the Food Court problem. What do you think guys?
A comment on the idea "Please make the android app as complete as the iPhone app" in foursquare:
I know they are, but for instance on the iPhone app, you can see the badges you haven't unlocked yet, when on the Android app, you only see the badges you have unlocked. And I believe that's a very different experience. (in that specific case, I would say I prefer the android app).
But it is good to know that the developers are not from the foursquare team, it explains a lot (no offense for them). Thanks for the answer.
But I still think the Android app would deserve more attention. – Nicolas Belloni, on December 08, 2009 16:18
Nicolas Belloni shared an idea in foursquare on December 07, 2009 16:27:
Please make the android app as complete as the iPhone appThere are many functionalities available on the iPhone app and not on the Android one. It is not really fair. The number of Android devices is growing rapidly and the update process is easier to handle for you as developers. So it would be cool if you would improve it.
Here is what I think needs to be improved:
- Access to the To-Do
- Access to the Badges
- Profile
- Improved UI (the tabs on the iPhone app are great)
- Notifications (but you already answered here http://getsatisfaction.com/foursquare...)
Basically I would love the Android and iPhone app to be a bit more consistent.
