I would try reinstalling Firefox- it sounds like you may have restored to a much older version which isn't compatible with the latest add-ons. Get the latest from getfirefox.com.-

Not currently but we are looking at how we might be able to do this. It's not a conscious decision to exclude non hosted add-ons, just that AMO doesn't currently support listings for add-ons not on our site. -

Hi E,
Firefox doesn't install any software that runs when Firefox isn't running, so it's very unlikely that your upgrade affected every internet application on your windows machine. I would try going to Internet Properties in your Control Panel, clicking the 'Connections' tab, and clicking 'LAN Settings'. Check the proxy server setting. If it is checked, try unchecking it. If it is unchecked and something is entered under 'address', you may want to try checking it. The other settings are usually unchecked unless your ISP requires some special configuration. To be sure, if you have another computer working on your network, you may want to use it to compare settings here. Any problems with your LAN settings will affect connectivity for all of your applications.
