AT&T support is pathetic. It's even worse if — *gasp* — you have DSL without a phone line, a service THAT AT&T PROVIDES.
In that case, when you call up, you wait on hold until you get someone who can tell you that DSL without a phone line requires you to wait on hold again to talk to someone else. You input the phone number already "so they would know how to direct your call." As if.

My DSL line drops several times daily.I have high-speed DSL service in San Francisco from AT&T. It is, I should mention, not cheap.
My understanding was that I was paying for an always-on service. And yet, I have numerous daily service interruptions, which are usually resolved automatically within a few seconds or minutes. It sounds fussy and impatient, I'm sure, but it interrupts videos and makes browsing a hassle.
The AT&T-supplied router actually makes this problem worse, by substituting its own error messages (which provide misleading and inaccurate information) for the standard web browser error messages.
If this happened once or twice a week, that would be one thing. But it happens several times daily!
