this happens with the videos in the getting started tutorial as well as background videos for cues. the getting started videos seem to be wmv's, i use a lot of mpg for backgrounds, length ranges from 3-5 minutes i guess – Matt Smith, on April 22, 2009 17:56

I have less choppiness when at lower resolutions, but it is still present. The only time it is really not noticeable is when the resolution is set down to 800x600 with 16 bit color depth... not really acceptable quality compared to it running fine in MS3 with 1280x800 and 32 bit color. I guess I'm just waiting for the next update and having my fingers crossed real hard.

choppy video playback after first video playedplaying first video is fine, but second video is choppy and audio gets out of sync. i just upgraded to version 4 last week and after experiencing issues with the video playback installed all available updates, including build 105.2. we use a widescreen format and an hp laptop (details in my tag). i have also updated the drivers for my video card.
playing the very first video, or first slide of a lyric with a motion background, works fine but as soon as the next cue is played media shout starts to really grind and get choppy. even the mouse seems to "stutter". resources jump considerably.
i have noticed that if i restart media shout it works again for a single video.

changing the color depth seemed to solve the rest of the issue... it still seems like a lot of work around right now though – Matt Smith, on April 06, 2009 20:15

additional info on my system:
HP laptop, 2gb ram, 2 ghz core duo.
I have the latest k-lite codec pack and drivers from intel.
And even with lowest resolution, it only lessens the problem that seems to still be present when at lower resolutions.
Doesn't appear to be a codec problem because when in single display mode everything works very smoothly.
With the display set at a minimal 800x600 I still notice that the audio gets out of sync with the video regularly or at least is affected by the "choppy" effect of the video. – Matt Smith, on April 06, 2009 20:12
