Pand3m0nium replied on April 13, 2009 20:45 to the problem "WHERE ARE MY POINTS ?" in ChessCube:
Another point is that the rating gained or lost playing an opponent is directly affected by both your ratings. Thus, if you have a rating of let's say 2100 and play a 1700 and win you will win a lot less points than if you beat another 2100. Likewise, losing to a lowly rated player will result in you losing a lot more points than if you had lost to a 2100. I hope this clarifies the matter.

Pand3m0nium replied on November 26, 2008 09:07 to the problem "When opponents take back accepted, game went to starting of the game." in ChessCube:
This is not necessarily a bug; your opponent might have just asked to take back his first move which in turn takes you back to the start of the game. When your opponent asks for a take-back it should say which move he wants to take back. In this way he can either take back 1 move, 2 moves, or even 20.
Pand3m0nium replied on November 22, 2008 21:37 to the problem "Cheating?" in ChessCube:
In response to shnowy1, the chances are that it is due to high latency, either on your side or your opponent's side; if your opponent disconnects then a box should appear saying that your oppononent has disconnected.
In response to diego, pls don't make any accusations of cheating, it might be a sytem bug. Pls go to the HELP menu in ChessCube and click on Feedback and type your problem. Thanks
Hope this helps

Ranking, as in your rating? i.e. the number displayed next to your name? The way rating works is that you start at a rating of 1500 and you gain points if you win and lose points if you lose. The amount of points you gain or lose will depend on both you and your opponent's rating at the time of the game.
The rating formula works as follows:
Rn = Ro+((S-(1/(1+(10^(D/400))))xK)
Where:
Rn = Your new rating
Ro = Your current rating
S = Game score/result
D = opponent rating - your current rating
K = weighed factor
K depends on the type of game as well as the number of games (n) played.
Bullet: K=50 (n>0)
Blitz: K=50 if n<10><=n<50>=50
Normal: K=50 if n<10><=n<50>=50.
E.g. Your rating is 1500 (Ro). Your opponent is rated 2000. You have already played 20 blitz games.
D = 2000-1500=500
K = 42
Popping this all in the formula will give:
If you won the game (s=1): Rn = 1500 + 40 = 1540
If you drew the game (s=1⁄2): Rn = 1500 + 19 = 1519
If you lost the game (s=0): Rn = 1500 - 2 = 1498.
Your opponent's rating is calculated in the same way depending on his number of games played.

Drop-down menu for chatroomsSpecifically for mods. How about a drop down menu for chat rooms since as a mod it gets a bit cluttered having 7 cafes open at all time?

Shortcuts for PromotionI'm a regular bullet player and have set autopromotion on to queen. except that at times it might be necessary not to promote to a queen but rather, maybe a Bishop, or Knight, or Rook. Is there a way that as I promote, if I press for example ctrl and N i get a knight?
