Which other apps do this? As far as I know the iPhone SMS functionality isn't available to other apps.

Unfortunately we can only use whatever data is put on the Mac's Clipboard to name images. Safari places this information on the clipboard, Firefox does not.

The blue line uses a formula very very similar to your 10% exponentially smoothed weighted average already.
