I emailed Twitter Support too and got generic unhelpful information back, none of which helped stop Vodafore & Twitter spamming my mobile. Nothing worked to stop it. No idea If I am getting billed for these texts! – paulsw11, on April 13, 2009 16:37

Tried all of that online resources to try and stop "Barrage of texts from twitter despite being deactivated". Direct messages to support desk didn't help either.

Meanwhile we continue to get spammed by vodafone with twitter messages despite all efforts. Bad idea to link mobile to Twitter in hindsight.

Have a look at "Barrage of texts from twitter despite being deactivated" - you may be less keen to trust vodafone once it starts annoying you with endless spam texts. Good luck.

It feels so much more of a personal invasion to get this spam stuff on a mobile than through email doesn't it? I am starting to scowl at my phone too! I have given up with Twitter as a dumb idea and warning my friends. – paulsw11, on April 12, 2009 17:54

Update: Deleted phone number on Twitter, sent numerous off, stop, quite etc. Have now deleted my Twitter account. Vodafone spam texts still arriving! – paulsw11, on April 12, 2009 17:13

I found an option to delete my phone number from Twitter devices. Twitter Support suggested deleting my acount and restoring it later. Getting endless pointless spams from Vodafone telling me updates are off and similar non sequiturs. I know!!
