* Your data and the data of your contact network is only visibly to you, no one else on the platform can access it.
* We don't ask you (or anyone) for any passwords, because we are exclusively working with delegated authorisation/authentication systems like OAuth and OpenID.
* All data-importing and exporting steps are transparent, YIID only transfers the informations you want to transfer and only if you want to transfer them.
* You can use https to login to YIID and in one of the next versions, you can also use your YIID OpenID with SSL support.
* If you decide to delete your profile, we delete it (no disabling or hiding)

A comment on the question "Worst use of OpenID ever!" in ekaabo:
I understand your point, but as I said YIID is primarily an OpenID Provider and whatever OpenID provider you use, wether myopenid, google or Yahoo! you have to login to these providers using a username/password combination. The same goes for their signups, myOpenID (https://www.myopenid.com/signup) and Google (https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAc...) doesn't support any kind of signup-helpers so better a not yet perfect OpenID-Consumer than none.
But you are still right, the user should be able to decide if he would use username/password or if he wants to signup using an OpenID without adding yet another password (the eMail comes with SReg), so see the login as it is now as a little improvement against classic OpenID-Providers and I will give you a note if we improved it.
Thanks for your feedback. – Matthias Pfefferle, on March 16, 2009 20:50
Matthias Pfefferle replied on March 16, 2009 19:21 to the question "Worst use of OpenID ever!" in ekaabo:
If your OpenID-Provider uses SReg, these fields are prefilled, so you don't have much more to do than setting a password and pressing the "submit" button (the Plaxo RP for example works the same way except the password thing)!
Nevertheless, the login/signup is not perfect as it is, but YIID is primarily an OpenID Provider so the login is up to now only a "nice to have" (and by the way, YIID is the only provider with OpenID-Login that I know) but we know this and if we have the time, we will also improve this feature.
Matthias Pfefferle replied on March 10, 2009 15:23 to the problem "yiid.net und yiiid.com" in ekaabo:
Eigentlich wollten wir ja komplett auf yiid.com umsteigen aber da yiid.net die OpenID von Communipedia war müssen wir übergangsweise beide Domains unterstützen.
Wir werden im nächsten Update aber die .net Seiten auf irgend eine Weise kennzeichnen und den Besuchern vorschlagen doch besser die .com zu benutzen.
Danke für dein Feedback, Georg.
