E-Mail doesn't get nested when I change the subject!Hi there,
the problem I see with Postbox, is that in terms of e-mail (n)etiquette and especially understanding it is necessary to change the e-mail subject each time I mail (back), as one has to remove the "Re:" etc. and add or change the topic to match the content of the e-mail!
I think tracking must be still possible. Especially as e.g. I most of the time do it that way:
Subject: "New subject /Old subject"
So the old subject is still there, just shifted to the right to make space for the new subject! Of course the old subject is there to indicate it is a response and also to make it easier for the person to get the reference, especially if he or she does not work with a CRM or helpdesk system or with such a "nesting" functionality like you and e.g. GoogleMail offer it.
I hope you get my point and look forward to an improvement here! :)
Kind regards

@dee: Yes, I'd like to. Just don't know what they need to know. I use Windows 7 Professional x64, that might be important too. ;-) – Philipp Grunwald, on October 15, 2009 11:28

Lightning and Provider for Google Calendar. Took the version from your site, still it doesn't accept it. But I had that same problem with TB once, so it seems to be a long-lasting bug... – Philipp Grunwald, on October 14, 2009 22:32

Editing a topic unchecks the product/serviceI think the headline is clear:
As soon as I edit a topic, the previously selected product/service get unchecked!
I could reproduce this with several companies including yours.
Is this a "feature"? If yes, than it is an annoying one. I can choose for myself! Often when editing I just want to correct a typo, add some words or correct the paragraph break...
Kind regards

Issue / ticket tracking for Microsoft Outlook 2007?Hi there Microsoft team + GS community!
Today I just have one, not directly product related question:
Is there a help desk / issue tracking / ticket tracking software (= add-on/plugin) for Microsoft Outlook 2007 (Desktop!) out there?
Which one would you recommend me? And why. I need a number system that is included (#1234567) and an integrated rules-system for proper follow-up. The rest is somewhat optional.
Stats: One person to small business = 1 seat for the time & as simple &cheap as possible. ;-)
Content: Non-IT and more outgoing stuff from my side than incoming = follow-up. All via e-mail.
Thanks for you help in advance!
Kind regards.

Why was there no further feedback on Zeroblizzards questions/request? Though strange from his side, I'd still expect a fair feedback as a user, even if it is short. ...and if you really think, it is unimportant BS, then please delete it, as relevance is of course a valid argument. – Philipp Grunwald, on October 14, 2009 20:17
Philipp Grunwald asked a question in Get Satisfaction on October 14, 2009 20:14:
Would I be allowed to use ticket numbers in the title?Hi there,
I was just thinking about enlarging / streamlining the whole issue tracking system for myself. ^_^
I use issue tracking in my e-mail not only for organizing e-mail in general, but also for organizing and tracking follow-ups! Normally that is only what company support people do, but I don't care. :D
So I thought about putting such numbers also here in the title of my topic, am I allowed to? Especially, would I be allowed to put them at the front of it all, as this would work better for my system? I know I may get into trouble with some companies anyway, but who cares? ;-)
I mean, normally a company should try to answer every question / solve every problem, so the title it self should not be as important to them, as the status of the issue itself.
Thanks for your help in advance and thanks for GS, you help a lot! :)
Kind regards
Philipp Grunwald
PS: I love praise for this creative adaption from all productivity gurus, so if you feel obliged to, go ahead. ;-)

Archived e-mails are gone / not displayedHi there,
I just tested the "Archive" folder cautiously, as I expected it to not work out. And it didn't! -.-
I'd love to use it to work the "Zero Inbox" style also with my Non-GoogleMail accounts, but yeah.
The e-mail just doesn't show up in the newly created folder.
After restarting, the folder icon changed and it's position was changed to be directly under the Inbox, but still, no e-mail! I didn't try it with other (IMAP) e-mail accounts, so the stats are:
It seems to be a "Novell Web Access" thingy, while I can only give you more details on it when I ask the IT department.
Any idea what causes this?
Kind regards

Btw., why do you write "Unmodified Thunderbird add-ons do not work within Postbox at this time." there and still for the most part link to addons.mozilla.org instead of a adapted *.xpi? If the sentence is outdated, please delete it. – Philipp Grunwald, on October 14, 2009 17:16

Then please do this!! You don't mention Ariels point neither here nor here (at least not enough, I missed it, why isn't it red or so?)! ...except for that I still don't understand why the installation doesn't work! Please fix that!!! I paid for it, I don't expect it to work worse than the free Thunderbird!! – Philipp Grunwald, on October 14, 2009 17:10

Will there be a native integration for that feature soon? I find it annoying having to use an Add-On! – Philipp Grunwald, on October 14, 2009 17:02
Philipp Grunwald replied on October 14, 2009 14:29 to the question "Incoming e-mail highlight notification inconsistent?" in Flock:
Hi,
ok as I was on it anyway, it just got present in my mind, how buggy the whole story actually is. At least that is what I perceive. Here is a screenshot.
Several problems:
1). Somehow, Yahoo! Mail (or any mail account) sets itself as primary web account, although I never had done/changed or authorized that and wouldn't! I don't use Yahoo! Mail anymore, it is just there to monitor the incoming e-mails I might've not changed to GoogleMail.
2). The shown unread message(s) / message count is not really in sync with the actual point, even though I have just checked them (the e-mails) or in the case where I go on the site, shouldn't flock notice that? So two variants:
2.1.) I'm on it and it shows mails I've already read and there are zero mails in the Inbox - as to be seen in the screenshot.
2.2.) I'm going to GoogleMail via the flock button and although I have unread e-mails in GMail, it (still) showed totally different unread e-mails in the preview!
Conclusion: flock should check the e-mails when I access the drop-down or at least the specific e-mail account with my mouse! I know that might be difficult to realize, but this way, even if I set the message check at every 60 seconds, it seems flock doesn't really get it that I read the other e-mails. Maybe I'm expecting too much of an API-webapp?

Hi, yes, I use v.2.5.2 still (how not? ;)) and it works fine as said. Could be maybe also a thing with the check rhythm, I prolonged it. – Philipp Grunwald, on October 13, 2009 22:15

Hi Patricia,
I'm not able to reconstruct/test that, as I cancelled my account!
I had at first also a basic account and then a pro account.
And also the notification works of course 80% of the time properly, but it happened/happens. As I also use filters myself (still), the only thing I'd suppose could be the reason would be their special filter system. At least I find no visible filter (left) in my filter properties...did you try to contact them about it?
