Rachel James replied on September 29, 2009 13:57 to the question "ActionScript 3.0 Cookbook missing comment web page" in O'Reilly Media:
Hi Michael,
Are you looking for the sample code for the book? The files are available from that book page. For most of our books, you can find the link to the Examples below the image of the book's cover. Here's the zip file of sample code from the ActionScript 3.0 Cookbook, which can be found on the examples page.
I hope this helps. If you're looking for something else, let me know.
Can you describe the problem you're having with the Pen class? Are you encountering an error?
Thanks,
Rachel James

Hi David,
You can find the Example/source code files for most of our books by going to the Examples link on the book's catalog page on oreilly.com. The examples link is located below the image of the book's cover.
Here are the Example files for Rails: Up and Running.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Trevor,
Sorry you haven't been able to access Safari. It seems to be working now for me. Are pages not loading for you, or are you not able to log in? What happens when you go to http://my.safaribooksonline.com/home?
Some more information should help us to track down what's going on.
Thanks,

Hi Peter,
It looks like Borders does carry the newer edition, Rails: Up and Running, at least online, if you'd like to purchase it from them.
Rails: Up and Running is also available from our online store (through our UK Cart), and is available as an ebook bundle as well.
On the book page, you can find links to Examples/source code and Errata.
You might also be interested in Learning Rails. You can find more Ruby and Rails resources and content at http://oreilly.com/ruby/.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Rachel

Rachelj replied on September 22, 2009 17:04 to the question "Lost in Leopard" in O'Reilly Media:
Hi,
If you're new to using a Mac, but are familiar with Windows, a book that may be helpful to you is Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, Leopard Edition. This book introduces you to Leopard in the context of what you know from Windows.
Feel free to write us here with questions about the book or about using your Mac, we'd be glad to help you. Are there any particular tasks that you're trying to understand? We can help you find the correct section of the book and clarify anything that's not clear.
If neither of these books seems like the right book, I wanted to make sure you knew that we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. You can find details at http://oreilly.com/oreilly/cs/guarantee.csp.
Also, there are some video tutorials from Lynda.com that might be useful to you. There's a series about Leopard that is available with a subscription, but some videos about the basics are available for free. You can find them at http://www.lynda.com/home/DisplayCourse.aspx?lpk2=365 (Check out the Introduction and Welcome to Leopard sections).
I hope this helps, and please let us know if there's anything we can do for you.

Hi Peter,
I'm sorry to hear about this frustrating experience, but we'll make sure you get the correct book, so that you can move forward with Rails.
It sounds like you purchased Ruby on Rails: Up and Running, which was published in 2006, but we have a new edition of the book: Rails: Up and Running, which was published in October 2008.

We have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I'd recommend that you first find out if you can return the book to Borders. If you have difficulty returning the book to them, please contact our customer service at order@oreilly.com or (707) 827-7000 / (800) 998-9938.
