With a terminally ill relative in my house, this is more
than a serious impact on work; it attenuates our ability to
provide care on-going, and it deprives my [relative] of
his ability to communicate with his friends; we are selling
his house and he is now far away from his home neighborhood

A friend writes: I have received extraordinarily bad customer service from
LanMinds, a local ISP, relating to a mandatory switchover
from Covad to AT&T DSL circuits. I fear a service disruption
in Internet. LMi has had my email account (with them!); my
cell, and my work numbers, and has failed to coordinate this
activity with me. I have also written them email, to which
I did not receive response, and their web site contains no
news of this fundamental change of service.
