Hey Jimbo. I'll look into this to see if it's an issue that's being tracked or a new one. – ReyBango, on September 01, 2009 18:57

A comment on the problem "Import from Thunderbird failed." in Postbox, Inc.:
Hey Scott. I blew away my PB profile and restarted. I was immediately prompted to import from TB and did so. Everything came over as expected. Some quirks I experienced:
1) Immediately after the import finished the "Get Mail" button wouldn't work. I had to restart PB to get it to work.
2) I'm getting the following message when I send any email:
http://skitch.com/reybango/b8bds/postbox
3) Whichever rules TB had learned to filter out junk mail didn't come over properly as junk mail is flowing which has typically been caught by TB
4) My inbox showed 4 new messages even though there weren't any new messages. I had to ensure that I was *not* in conversation mode, click into a new folder and then back to Inbox. That cleared the indicator for new messages. It happened on both accounts and I was able to confirm that I had to unselect Show Conversation in order to solve the issue.
5) On one of my accounts, the Sent folder wasn't transferred correctly which is why I think the issue I mentioned in #2 is happening:

Ok, you've vented and gotten that off of your chest. Now, let's give these guys the benefit of the doubt since they are a startup & at least they're trying. For example, I know Brian personally since he works with me at Mozilla and he is truly interested in helping. And while I don't know the others, they seem to be at least trying.
Having done tech support before for a sizable software company, I know it's challenging enough with several $100m in the bank, let alone for a 4 man crew.
So work with them and if Postbox doesn't help, then you're in no worse shape as when you first started. But if they come through on the features they're promising, it may be the email client of your dreams and you'll be glad you stayed. – ReyBango, on March 04, 2009 22:30

Angel, seriously, I think you're overreacting. I have the same problem as you but posting something like that isn't the right way to handle it. Take a deep breath man and either just walk away from PostBox or see if it can be fixed. I'm trying the latter and Scott already got some info about it. Relax. – ReyBango, on March 04, 2009 20:30

Hey Scott,
1) Mac
2) I didn't import on the first run.
3) Yep, that's what I used. Tools->Import...
I'll give your suggestion a shot but considering that my Mozilla inbox is stacked, you and Brian will owe me a big time lunch for that! ;)
BTW, how do you deal with Brian?!? I mean, I *HAVE* to work with him via Mozilla but you volunteered! LOL! j/k, Brian is awesome.
