rousso replied on December 23, 2009 22:07 to the question "No new Posts on the Wall?" in RSS Graffiti:
Hi,
The feed 'http://feeds.feedburner.com/tunnych' is not added to any page in RSS Graffiti. So we can't expect any posts from that feed anyway.
Nevertheless the Fan Page 'http://facebook.com/pages/Tunnych/246...' has one feed added: 'http://www.tunny.ch/feed/' (Which probabaly has the same content with the one from feedburner anyway). I can see posts from this feed on the group's wall so at the moment I'm wondering if you still have the problem you reported or if this is a false alarm.
In anycase, as I already told you on our discussion on Facebook, your feed needs to include videos as media enclosures for RSS Graffiti to pick them up and embed the videos in the stories posted on Facebook. I suggest you try to add enclosures to the feed for optimum results.
Let me know if this case is closed or you still have a 'feed not posting' problem.
Best regards,
Yannis
rousso replied on December 15, 2009 11:57 to the problem "pubDate of midnight confused with no time given" in RSS Graffiti:
Hello there!
Indeed! We know this can happen! But how likely is it that a post is actually posted on 00:00:00:000? Not so much! So we thought we would keep the rule and if someone is as lucky (or unlucky) as hitting the publish button at midnight GMT sharp then he can safely ignore the message.
The item(s) will get posted anyway. If more than one items have the exact time stamp then only those items that appear together in the first fetch of the feed are going to get posted. If some more items appear in a subsequent fetch with the exact same time (midnight GMT) then it is obvious that the feed is not giving us the real publication date but a pubDate explicitly set to midnight (or not specifying the time at all).
It is not a matter of distinguishing between null and zero. The publication date is nothing but a string in the RSS text. That string is parsed to produce an exact date and time. Then we examine the time to see if it is midnight. If it is midnight then we assume there is no time specified in the string. We could add one more check to see if indeed midnight has been specified or assumed during parsing but we didn't. Maybe we should add this too so that no confusion is caused in this rare case. We just thought it would be so unlikely for this to happen that it would be more fun to test our luck with it than just rule it out. It turns out that not only did it happen but we got a bug report for it!
:-)
I will add one more check to see if midnight is explicitly specified and hide the warning in that case.
Thanks for using RSS Graffiti

rousso replied on December 06, 2009 12:38 to the question "Digg, Twitter Buttons?" in RSS Graffiti:
There is a recent Facebook policy that only allows one action button per story. For the moment we think it is better, that single custom action link, to be the "Share" link we have now (which actually uses the sharing mechanism provided by Facebook). It is not a bad idea to try to make a custom sharing action that covers more than the default sharing system of Facebook offers. But there is no plan to do something like that yet.
We will be looking for ways to do connect stories to other media (like Twitter and Digg) in the future.
Best regards
Yannis

Hi, This has to do with the Twitter application of Facebook rather than RSS Graffiti. I think I had seen a setting somewhere about which posts to include but I could not find it again now that I looked for it. You need to ask this question to Facebook itself (whether or not and how is possible to post to Twitter stories created by applications on your wall).
Also please check if it posts Status Updates. There is a setting for turning on/off posting of Facebook Status Updates to Twitter. First go to RSS Graffiti and set your feed to be handled as "Status Updates" (so that it updates your Facebook Status instead of just writing on your wall). Then go to Facebook's Twitter Application and make sure the check-box for "Status Updates" in the settings is checked. This might do the trick.
Let me know if you managed.

Dear Lary,
As we are talking on another case's thread here, I don't know what is the problem you are facing so I can't suggest any solution.
Please give me the feed url and describe you problem (preferably in another thread) so that I can help you.

I'm opening a ticket for this to be included in a future release.I'm not sure if we are going to finally implement this or not, but if we do, it will be in a more general context of enabling or disabling parts of a story's structure.
One of the things we have planed to do anyway is adding a story type for sharing links (i.e. get a feed from delicious). You can already do that with the "Generic" story type but a more specialized approach would be good. So in a case like this indeed a feature that allows you to disable the "source" and "date" attributes could be harmless and can be added with not many regrets I think.
Thanks for your suggestions and for using RSS Graffiti.

Hi David,
We plan to offer premium services for subscribers but we are not there yet. For the time being we are developing and testing the application and trying to bring it up to a level that we feel is acceptable for a subscription based offering.
What you ask about hiding the link to the source and the date, can be added as an option regardless of what options are going to be included in the free version of RSS Graffiti when we reach that point. Although I personally don't see any good reasons for enabling such option, it's the user's opinion that always counts more, so since you ask for it I will have to consider it.
To be completely open with you my first reaction is that I wouldn't like to add an option like that because it will encourage those that would like to use RSS Graffiti to publish 3rd party content without proper authorization from the content owner and obscure the content's source. That would be a violation of Facebook's ToS and also a violation of RSS Graffiti's ToS (and of course it will probably break other conventional law locally or internationally). On the other hand the user is always responsible for their actions so we shouldn't really play police or justice as service providers.
I promise to consider adding this option in a future release. Any arguments from you or other users in this thread might help us make up our mind on this particular issue.
RSS Graffiti branding (the icon and the "via RSS Graffiti" hyperlink) at the bottom of each posted story, will certainly be removed from the high-end premium version when it comes about.
Thanks for using RSS Graffiti,
Yannis

Hello Nidia,
We should open a new case for your problem since this one we are in now is about a different problem that has been resolved.
Nevertheless please give me a feed url and I will check what is going on with your feed.
Thanks,

Hi Chris,
Sorry for the belayed reply.
"Microblog" and "Status Update" stories are right for this type of thing. If you use "microblog" then the link to your post should be in the "Full story" action link at bottom of the post. If you use "Status Update" you will also have a link appended to the update as a short url (bit.ly).
If these links point to your wiki's home page rather than to the page the story refers to, then you need to check your RSS feed and make sure it includes a hyperlink to the original page in every item.
If you need help on checking that please give me the feed url and I will check it for you.
I hope this helps,
Yannis
