ruipenunes started following the idea "A listening history page with better integration and more information than last.fm" in Songbird.
ruipenunes replied on May 23, 2009 08:52 to the praise "Last.fm intergration" in Songbird:
This is a really, really great add-on. It's a pitty that I can't use it anymore, because of last.fm's restrictions towards anyone living outside of the USA, UK and Germany.
I've already reported this situation on get satisfaction: http://gsfn.us/t/3spu
So far I haven't had any question, so I'm insisting here.
The question is if SB can do anything about this situation?
I ask this because last.fm mentions something on their blog. They say: "Updating developers using our Radio API: third-party apps that stream Last.fm Radio will have full access to the Radio API, so streaming will work provided the user that logs in is a subscriber. (All other APIs remain free/unchanged)".
Can someone say anything about this?
Thanks!
ruipenunes replied on May 10, 2009 10:56 to the question "Listen to Last.fm radios" in Songbird:
SB has done an excellent work with this. Since it showed up, I have been using it massively and I couldn't be happier.
The problems came now and SB has nothing to do with them. If, like me, you live outside of the USA, UK and Germany you probably know what I'm talking about.
Just like last.fm states in their blog: "listeners to Last.fm Radio outside of the USA, UK and Germany will be asked to subscribe for €3.00 per month, after a 30 track free trial period. In the USA, UK and Germany, where it’s feasible to run an ad-supported radio service, there won’t be any changes. Everything else on Last.fm (scrobbling, recommendations, charts, biographies, events, videos etc.) will remain free in all countries, like it is now."
I feel this to be terribly unfair, not to mention that SB's add-on is now useless to whoever lives elsewhere in the world.
The question is if SB can do anything about it? I ask this because last.fm mentions something else on their blog. They say: "Updating developers using our Radio API: third-party apps that stream Last.fm Radio will have full access to the Radio API, so streaming will work provided the user that logs in is a subscriber. (All other APIs remain free/unchanged)".
If this means that despite the restrictions last.fm is imposing one could still listen to its radios through SB then I suppose there would be a lot more people starting to listen to SB.
Can someone from SB say anything about this?
Thanks and, once again, thank you for all your wonderful work!

I also used MusicMatch Jukebox, so it would be great if some of its functions could be adapted to SB.
I already suggested one of those here:
http://gsfn.us/t/p4e
Give it a look.

Do you mean something like this http://gsfn.us/t/p4e?-

Hi!
You're not the only one asking for a queue feature as you can see here:
http://gsfn.us/t/ltz
Give it a look. Maybe if there's a lot of us asking for this we can catch someone's attention.
ruipenunes replied on December 28, 2008 11:47 to the question "Is there a way to have both media flow and the filter pane open at the same time?" in Songbird:
Hi Stevo!
I think there's another way to do this.
Please give a look at this topic:
http://gsfn.us/t/p4e
It was a suggestion I made that would be, as I see it, an excellent alternative to filter panes.
ruipenunes replied on December 25, 2008 23:34 to the question "where is the "Now Playing" window??????" in Songbird:
Hi there!
You should be able to have a Now Playing window by installing the "Now Playing List" add-on (http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/96). However, this add-on has a few problems and hasn't been updated for the latest version of SB.
There's a topic concerning this that you can check here: http://gsfn.us/t/ltz.-

ruipenunes replied on December 14, 2008 11:24 to the problem "SB doesn't load ratings from files" in Songbird:
Excellent idea. At least this way, we're able to have our ratings at Songbird.
I wonder if anyone has thought about creating an add-on that does this automatically?
I don't know if it's feasible... if so it would be an excellent way to solve, at least for a while, the problems with importing ratings to SB.-

A comment on the idea "Suggestions for improving the Now Playing List" in Songbird:
I already saw (down here) that you're planning to implement some of the things I and other have suggested. That's great. I believe that step by step we'll get there. In the end, if it's still not possible to have what everyone's suggesting, then we'll see... What about talking with the SB team for some help? Maybe they can find a way. – ruipenunes, on December 10, 2008 23:08

Just like JeCh, I would also like to have an answer on why does this topic, and others, have a sentence saying "The company implemented this idea" when, from what I can see, it doesn't?
As for the discussion around this topic, go take a look at this one either:
