Dom reported a problem in DollarApp on December 01, 2009 07:01:
Crashing in certain International RegionsHi Everyone, I'm noticing that all features will crash when the device is set to certain Regions. I can reproduce the problem by setting my region to Netherlands, Germany, or Japan for example.
If the app does this for you, the solution is to set your region to the US, Canada, or Belgium for example, which avoids the crash.
A full list of problem countries is forthcoming, and meanwhile the app has been removed from sale in those countries. This issue is my top priority, and I will keep everyone advised. Also, please stay tuned to http://twitter.com/bookapp for the latest news.
Thank you,
-Dom

I'm happy to report that this problem has been fixed with version 1.1, which was submitted to Apple for review today.
Your patience is appreciated, as Apple usually takes over a 1-2 weeks to approve updates.
Meanwhile, you can continue to get updated text each time you launch the App. To view it, simply navigate between Chapters after tapping Book.
Thank you,

Update to text requires prompting each time.hi Everyone,
I've noticed an issue with the shipping version 1.0 of "140 Characters."
When you load the Book, a new version of the text is downloaded silently. To see the new version, all you need to do is navigate through the text. That behavior is expected.
Unfortunately, even after you do this, the Book continues to show the old version each time you launch that feature. I'm not sure what is causing this, but I believe this is linked to the Bookmark functionality. Only by navigating through the Chapters each time you load the Book do you see the new text.
This can be confusing, and it is not as designed. It should persistently present the newer version of the text after the second time you view the Book.
I just wanted to let you know a couple of things:
0. Bookmark will place you back into the Chapter you last viewed, and may present outdated text.
1. There is updated text, which you can see by checking the Book menu and looking at the date. It should read November 19.
2. You can see this new text by simply navigating through the Book before reading each time. That's the workaround to this bug.
This issue is my top priority. Luckily, I'll be spending this next week surrounded by iPhone developers at iPhoneDevCamp in Amsterdam and I'm sure the solution will present itself soon.
Thank you for purchasing version 1.0 and stay tuned for news about version 1.1.

hi TimWard,
Our engineering team has been hard at work developing Pacifica to extend Flash Player and AIR on the Mac and PC platforms. We anticipated a public beta this summer but we are delaying while we align with the Acrobat platform.
Please stay tuned here as our Private Beta continues to grow. You can request access to the program by commenting here, or engaging with our Twitter account: http://twitter.com/pacifica . More news on Public Beta availability will be forthcoming.
Your patience is appreciated - trust me it'll be worth the wait ;)
