Get Satisfaction iPhone app@getsatisfaction are there any plans for an iPhone version of your site? I have an idea if you are - let's talk.

ok, just to clarify ... Do you own a time capsule? it is a physical device that is about the size of a stack of CDs. If you do, the time capsule is also a wireless device and you need to use it as your router for it to work. You can get rid of your old router and just plug your internet connection directly into the time capsule ... it will work the same (or better) than your old router.
Time Machine is just the name of the back up software and it requires that you buy an external hard drive (or time capsule). otherwise, what would be the point of backing up?

just realized that you may be conflating time machine (software) with time capsule (hard drive in a wireless device) ... the time machine software will work if you plug a hard drive directly into your computer, but i'm not sure if it will work wirelessly if you don't have an airport extreme.
BTW, i plug my hard drive directly into my airport extreme and it works fine (although backups are inexplicably slow).

A comment on the question "When is the phone coming out?" in Google:
For the record, I didn't ask when the phone manufactured by Google is coming out. In the Android section of the Google community, I asked when the phone is coming out ... but you're right, i could have been more clear. – Scott Hirsch, on September 26, 2008 20:42

Sad that no one from google responds to these problems, but there is a solution!
Give google.com permission to open pop-ups on your browser.
Even though the javascript is not technically opening a pop-up and you get no security message from your browser, for some reason giving this permission makes the problem go away ... at least it hasn't happened for a few days now.
Scott Hirsch replied on September 13, 2008 18:20 to the idea "I Hate These Headphones! A List of iPhone Headphone Alternatives" in Apple:
The v-moda vibe duos sound good, but there is a design flaw in the jack where it plugs into the phone. The wire eventually shorts and the left headphone goes out ... this happened to me three times!
V-moda is aware of this flaw and are apparently releasing a v.2 of the headphones, but I wouldn't buy them under any circumstances!
See my posts (and a response from the company via email) here ...

Scott Hirsch reported a problem in Apple on September 13, 2008 18:15:
External speaker slowly stops workingOver a period of months, the external speaker on my iphone has gotten quieter and quieter and now is barely audible. This really wouldn't be a problem except that this is the speaker that the ring-tone comes through, as well ... so i basically can't hear my phone ring! A pretty vital feature on a phone.
I wouldn't post this here (since I don't expect an answer), but I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE! Apple has already replaced my phone once because of this problem. I'm out of warranty, but I'll probably go to apple and raise a fuss and/or beg for mercy. They tend to be pretty cool when you're actually in the store face-to-face.
Am I just jinxed when it comes to iphone?-

Scott Hirsch asked a question in City of San Francisco on September 10, 2008 22:59:
How did plan creators arrive at the parking density restrictions?I understand that the theory is that the parking density should remain approximately .5cars per unit of housing ... so I know where it came from. I'm curious though: how can the plan developers rationalize that this density can remain at such a low level, while they also approved new mid-level/high-rise development near market and van ness?
Simple math, there will be more people per square mile after the developments are complete ... and the same number of street level spaces (if not fewer). The density guideline just doesn't make sense and appears random and arbitrary. Meanwhile, my neighborhood (lower haight) is experiencing worse and worse parking problems, and we have no means to solve that problem by adding garage spaces. I think the developers just want to affect property value and actually have no interest in creating a liveable city.
Also, when I try to get answers, I'm told that the plan is meant to discourage car ownership. While I agree that this is a worthwhile goal (I haven't owned a car since 2002), I don't think that our transportation infrastructure can support this. Muni is experiencing budget cuts at a time when the market octavia plan is requiring better transport to take up the transportation slack created by the parking restrictions.
What is noble goal will make our city LESS LIVEABLE IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE!
