Scott Hirsch reported a problem in AT&T on August 11, 2008 05:46:
technical support guy hung up on me ... name was (steve?) mills.was just calling to see if EDGE had been down in SF or if it was my iphone. customer service refunded my data plan for the month, but she insisted i wait for tech support to report the problem. after having been on hold for 20 minutes and hearing the problem, he just hung up. name was Steve Mills (may not have been Steve, but definitely Mills).
can't wait til iphone is off AT&T ... I get little coverage through much of San Francisco. It's not the phone! I had flawless coverage in Spain and the UK.

I've been an etrade*bank customer for 10 years ... in fact, i was a customer of telebank when etrade acquired them.
yes, in terms of having low or non-existant fees and high interest on savings, they are great ... be careful about customer service though. not so good about making it up to you about major inconveniences that are their fault.
i guess you get what you pay for ...

Scott Hirsch replied on July 30, 2008 00:07 to the question "Why do I suffer intermittent audio dropouts when using AirTunes?" in Apple:
I have had this issue with airtunes, as well. I used to think it was bandwidth, but now that i have an 802.11(n) airport extreme, my machine is using the (b) channel to run airtunes and I still have the problem, so i honestly don't think that it's bandwidth.
SO ... I finally figured out the culprits:
1. microwave oven, as stated above
2. nintendo wii remotes, although the stoppages are short and intermittent.
unfortunately, there is no solution to these problems, but at least knowing what the cause is makes me feel better.
