API to retrieve feed URLThe API is good as a personal id card. Would you consider extending it to retrieve the RSS URLs as well?
See-ming Lee replied on June 13, 2009 02:37 to the idea "Can DandyID widget's style not be locked in with the service?" in DandyID:
Sure thing - although you probably have noticed that I've solved the API issue (although may not be what you intended). Essentially, in order for me to retrieve data, the username used must be the numeric one and not the custom URL... I can already think of some more things I'd like the API to have but I guess I'll find you on IM instead then. :)

apostrophe not escaped in xml returned by APIAPI escaped all the entity escaped except apostrophe... I'm doing it to my data to hard-code ' right now but you probably fix the code... or maybe wrap it with CDATA?

A comment on the problem "Is the API running?" in DandyID:
Hey I'd like you to know that I have solved the problem on my own. It turns out that your system apparently doesn't allow me to use the username with your site (aka seeminglee) as my user id but that if I use my numeric id whihch you assigned to me when I first signed up before you allowed custom URLs, it does return stuff back.
so I'm now using 155 and it works now - but the md5 still doesn't though – See-ming Lee, on June 11, 2009 23:20

Can DandyID widget's style not be locked in with the service?It's great that you've so many different choices when it comes to "Universally portfable social identity," but instead of constraining folks to have either the Blogger widget to get icon-only display, or Wordpress with the list-style display, why can't I get a JavaScript-driven thingy that display like what you for Wordpress to be universally available?
So in other words, pick a style, pick your service.. instaed of style-service lock-in.
Essentially I wish to migrate my current networking id page to be data-driven by you guys but since I have no luck so far with accessing api, I was wondering what other options I have.
Oh and btw - very amazed with the number of products you launched recently.

Just so I know this is what you're refering to, here are my tests and results:
1. return_services
Using DandyID:
http://www.dandyId.org/api/return_ser...{my_api_key}/seeminglee/public
Using md5sum of my email address used on your site:
http://www.dandyId.org/api/return_ser...{my_api_key}/{email_md5sum}/public
Btoh returned this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<services>
</services>
2. return_profile
http://www.dandyid.org/api/return_pro...{my_api_key}/seeminglee/public
returned
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<userprofile>
</userprofile>
3. Invalid entries
Tested with malformed requests and system returned error message so I can only assume that it is *is* getting my requests.
4. my API key
Could it be problem with the api_key I was given?
5. Service Filter
Also I have enabled all the of the services (copied all from left column to right column on this page: http://www.dandyid.org/beta/apiservic... - which I assume is what I ought to do even though the filter panel was originally empty and there's no instruction on the page stating whether by including on the list, it means to include or filter those services.
This is all I can think of right now. Hopefully I'll hear back from you soon. If you'd prefer an IM session, let me know. you can find me on aol, gtalk, msn or yahoo. userid listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:See...

See-ming Lee asked a question in myOpenID on June 08, 2009 05:20:
Can user from custom domain display info on their profile page as well? If so, how?I added my own domain under my OpenID account and created a user with that account. My web site is verified by your server and I have also added CNAME record for my domain.
When I visit the user's URL right now, it points to default content by your server with the following text: "This is an OpenID Identity page. This user has chosen not to display any information on this page. "
I would like to display information on the page instead but I cannot figure out how to do that from your site, nor is it in the email sent to the user. I am thinking that maybe the user will need a different account registered with you bhere also does not appear to be a way to associate the URL with an existing account as it's not shown on my options when I login.
Here's the OpenID for my custom domain:

Your timely response would be highly appreciated.

See-ming Lee replied on June 08, 2009 04:45 to the question "Why is my account flagged as moderate and what must I do to return life to normal?" in Flickr:
I don't know if it has to do with this site or not, but I never received a response from Flickr support staff after sending a request for review... and shortly after posting this message, I get an email from them.
Many emails have been exchanged since this first contact and I am glad to announce that the matter has been resolved. I have plans to document this incident including its resolution on my wiki when I am available, which would hopefully be soon now that I no longer have to struggle with the media migration of 6000 images from Flickr to Picasa...

Service addition suggestionsMore services to add - most of these I noticed because they pop up really high on Google after performing a vanity search, so I gather that they are probably important services to consider.
Also, I noticed previously that you need to find where the user profiles are located at so I thoguht that I'd save you time and just link to my profile instead.
+ Launchpad: Ubuntu / Linux developer community

Is the API running?Is the API working? I'm still getting a single node with no results. I even tried it from Yahoo servers this afternoon and am getting no results.. maybe you can help :)
See-ming Lee asked a question in DandyID on May 28, 2009 19:24:
Does the API work with localhost?1. I tried this briefly today and both URLs returned XML document with a single top node:
http://dandyid.org/api/return_services/{my_api_key}/seeminglee?api_key={my_api_key}&profile_type=public&user_identifier=seeminglee
returned <services>
http://dandyid.org/api/return_profile/{my_api_key}/seeminglee?api_key={my_api_key}&profile_type=public&user_identifier=seeminglee
returned <userprofile>
2. Also, I noted that there's a setting on my API page for service filters:
http://www.dandyid.org/beta/apiservic...
Does it mean that I should copy all the sites to mine in order them to show up or filter them out? I am not sure because the default setting has nothing listed... where I assumed that's the reason I'm not receiving any data, it appears that listing all of them returned nothing either.
Any help would be appreciated.

See-ming Lee asked a question in Flickr on May 26, 2009 21:01:
Why is my account flagged as moderate and what must I do to return life to normal?Despite continually checking the help forums and reading the TOS, I still have not a clue why my account was marked as being 'moderate' as opposed to safe. It has since caused many problems for me, namely:
- I can no longer retrieve RSS feeds of any of my photographs.
- I can no longer post photos to any of my groups because the account labeling effectively makes all my assets appear to be 'restricted' to the system regardless of their content.
- Because of this status change, none of my assets are public, thus they no longer show up on any Flickr API calls.
- This means my photographs no longer get picked up by Gothamist, NowPblic and other blogs, which have traditionally sent me many referrals.
- This also means that many of my site's application which depends on the Flickr API now appears to all be broken but unfortunately unfixable.
Daily visitors to my stream dropped from ~4,000/day to 400 when it first happened and now I'm getting ~5/day on my stats, which is very depressive.
So far no one from Flickr nor any of the members (my friends + contacts) appear to understand why my account is flagged, and I am wondering if any of you would have a clue. I have already gone through the 6000+ items on my stream to revalidate and reflag items as appropriate but so far have not heard a word from Flickr and I found that to be odd.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As an fyi, my Flickr URL is http://www.flickr.com/photos/seeminglee
Thanks,
See-ming

1. I'd like to recommend that you add
http://www.acidplanet.com/
Interestingly, AcidPlanet was born way long ago before Web2.0 existed. It's an amazing social site for music producers + music lovers. Where Flickr fine-tuned my eye to criticize my own photography, AcidPlanet polished my ears to write electronic music. (Be sure to check out the frequent DJ contests with quality original tracks by Sony artists!)
2. Meanwhile, as I came by to update my lists (or rather, in actuality, trying to see if it's possible to reach Platinum 100...) I noticed that some of these companies no longer exist... I saw a couple but only remembered one: http://swurl.com - which is all too sad as I really did like their site - their UI for their timeline is simply awesome. Ah well..-

Typo spottingI don't usually report typos, but in this case it got me rereading the sentence in an infinite loop and I thought that I'd let you know..
IDENTITIES, 2nd paragraph: "Want to learn more information about a particular service? The service_details returns also sorts of useful information..."
I think that you meant to say: "Want to learn more information about a particular service? The service_details returns all sorts of useful information..."
i.e. change also to all.

Btw, great job in continually improving the UI and UX!
