Hi skinnyjeans,

This is an interesting point. Akoha is designed for all sorts of different people. We think that different people will have different interpretations of the Friends leaderboard.

Akoha is about getting people to do nice things for each other. We know that some people want to do this for altruistic reasons, but they won’t care about how they compare with their friends. They’ll just be happy to see that their friends are doing nice things.

But Akoha is also about getting people to discover that being mean isn’t the only way to get ahead in life. Sure, there will be competitive people playing Akoha and they’ll use the leaderboards in that way. But I, for one, will be happy that they’re being selfless by being selfish.

Isn’t that nice in the end?

We’re working really hard to fix this problem. For now, just reload the page after you’ve uploaded an image and it should appear.

Yes, privacy is important to us. We want to make it safe for people to play Akoha and there’s been a lot of thought about it.

While we’re in limited beta testing, we’ll be working on making the game simple and fun. But we’ll surely consider making your personal information more controllable before we open the doors to everyone.

Thanks for the additional information. We tracked down the upload problem and Juan is working on it now.

As for submitted missions, frankly, we’ve been focusing on fixing the most obvious problems with Akoha. But I should start approving them next week.
