A comment on the question "Can I send photos to Flickr via Ping.fm?" in Ping.fm:

This is the behavior I'd like to see as well. If I send a picture to flickr, I want the link in the Tweet/message/whatever to go to flickr instead of ping.fm's own page. Would be a very nice addition to this very nice service. – Sillium, on April 25, 2009 19:42

Hey Robert, I have to second Jeff here. The app (I'm using your 1.03 beta) works great and as I expected so far. The most important advantage over the iPhone-optimized ping.fm website is that text you entered once stays entered after closing and re-opening the app. Great work!

Hey Robert, gave Pingle for iPhone a first try and I really like it so far. Just a small problem for German users might be the messed up Umlauts in the history view. Don't know if that's a ping.fm problem you can work around somehow.

Just wanted to let you know that the problem seems to be finally fixed for me as of now. I'm back to my followers/followings PLUS the ones added in the meantime.

Just FYI: In a reply to one of my comments above, crystal says this problem was fixed manually for my account. It wasn't. The numbers were up but I'm still missing about 90 followers and they were not spam followers. And I know that the follower count on my profile page was correct before, because I counted them manually a few days ago.

Also: I miss 24 "followings". I was not following spammers, why should I? So how does this fit in the big picture?

Things like this happen. They shouldn't, but they do. Twitter, it's okay to take your time to get this fixed. It's okay to take down the page meanwhile. But it's not okay to tell me it's fixed when it really isn't.

Oh, and this might not be due to deleted spammers, because the other day I checked each of my 343 followers' pages and haven't seen more than 5 to 10 suspicious people. And yes, I counted them manually, it were 343 by that time, which was consistent with the count on the profile page. – Sillium, on July 24, 2008 06:06

By the way, the Twitter Status page (http://status.twitter.com/post/433171...) describes the problem as "Folks are reporting problems with missing followers - that is, seeing the follower counts drop on their profile pages.".

It's not just the follower count on my profile page. I actually don't follow certain people anymore and a "follow" button appears on their page when I'm logged in.
