Alex reported a problem in Xmarks on September 17, 2009 22:23:
Xmarks causing Chromium to crash in endless loopUsing Chromim Nightly (4.0.212.0) and Xmarks 0.4.22.
A few days ago chromium started crashing as soon as I opened it with the message:
"Whoa! Chromium has crashed. Restart now?"
And the Microsoft crash Dialog
(I can't seem to copy the full details from it, just this)
AppName: chrome.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: chrome.dll
ModVer: 4.0.212.0 Offset: 0000688a
Evenn a clean chromium install, it will start crashing as soon as I reinstall xmarks on the next startup regardless if I sync my profile or not. I don't even get a chance to see the GUI, maybe for a split second.

Well I'm not sure how it happened, but it's been fine for about a day now.
I had gone to another PC that I had set up with xmarks and chrome before this happened, and it synced the local bookmarks and recreated the dupes on the server again. I restored from a server backup and ever since then I haven't had a problem on my PC that I was having trouble with before. Not sure how that had an effect, I had restored to a server backup when I was getting things in order on this PC before. If it does it again I'll let you know.

Memory usage out of control - ~2GB of Virtual memory usedUsing latest Chromium Nightly 4.0.208.0 (25959) and Xmarks 0.4.17.
(This suddenly started happening with xmarks 0.4.17 and an earlier nightly)
I'm not sure what caused this out of nowhere, but it's happened consistently now. Eventually xmarks' chrome.exe will crash. It makes my entire computer unusable.

I realize that this is an alpha, but this is just bizarre. I can't really call it a "leak", it's more like just jumping to an insane amount of HD usage as soon as I start using the browser (not even bookmark related). It's RAM usage is not an issue, just the VM HD use.

I believe that this is same issue I posed here

Syncing between Chrome's "Bookmarks bar" and Firefox's "Bookmarks toolbar"Syncing between Chrome's "Bookmarks bar" and Firefox's "Bookmarks toolbar" causes a problem. The bookmarks sync fine, but since the browsers have a different naming convention, what was a toolbar in one browser, becomes a normal folder in the other. So when I switch browsers I have to juggle them back and forth.
This is much better than before Xmarks though, I had used Firefox as a bookmark manager then reimported back into Chrome.
I'm no developer, but this seems like an easy fix, since you can preform these checks on either side of the extensions (Chrome, Firefox, and/or server). But then again, what do I know, ha.-
