Supporting the automated tags in Live Writer is a bit tricky from the development point of view. So yes this is how it is suppose to be so far.

If you manage to set some kind of global proxy settings on Windows level then it might work. ( i am not shore that is even possible)

I can access that page from my browser. Have you added the correct settings for your application to take the default proxy in IE? I have had to manualy set the proxy settings in writer

This error means that Zemanta Plugin can not reach this document on our web page:
http://static.zemanta.com/plugins/liv...

Could you try to make it accessible? Problem might be if you have a proxy or an aggressive firewall.

Zone settings could be the problem. When you try to save the data in preferences we have some JavaScript that tries to execute POST.
If you have very restrictive zone settings this could be the problem.

On my development machine i have the same version of IE and Zemanta Plugin and it seems to work for me. (I have default zone settings in IE)

Could you try to set your setting to default in IE and try again? (you have to close Live Writer for the setting to apply to Zemanta Plugin)

Does it maybe have anything to do with the zone settings in Internet Explorer? :-o (didn’t think about that earlier)

What version of Internet Explorer do you have?
What version of Zemanta Plugin are you using?

To check Zemanta Plugin version go:
Start -> Run
type: "regedit"
open: My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zemanta\LiveWriter
check the value of "currVer" key

Start-->Control Panel-->Add or Remove Programs
find "Zemanta WLW Plugin" and click Remove

If you have Windows Vista:
Got to
Start-->Control Panel-->Programs and features
find "Zemanta WLW Plugin" and click Remove

This is very confusing to me. I have just downloaded the plugin from our web-site from different computers and I get today's time-stamp and 0.53.0 version.

I can't come up with a good explanation why this is happening. You can email me at domen.grabec(at)zemanta(dot)com and I will send you the plugin as an email attachment.

please check again. It might be confusing that both plugins were built at 16:19.

It looks like a JavaScript timing issue that we're working on right now. We'll have to test on IE8 before I can confirm it. You can expect a fix in the next full release or even sooner...

It's not solved until the new version is actually up for download, which it isn't. I just grabbed it and it's still the old one, as determined by MSI metadata and the digital signature's timestamp.
