What you are stating as "Error Mode" and "Quick Initialization" refers to the serial-over-IP products. The EM1000 and EM1202 are both part of the Programmable Modules. So the documentation for Serial-Over-IP does not apply. Please refer to the following link for information on how to start:

Yes, the larger the buffer the faster it gets (up to a limit). Just be careful that you do not run out of space for the other parts of your project.

By changing the value to three i actually got 3 to 4 kbps, when changing to 30 i download the image in a second. Thanks a lot

Try to increase the sock,txbuffrq up to 3 pages instead of 1. Even though the browser client will make multiple requests for a single page, but one large image will still be slow even if you provide a lot of sockets but small TX buffer.

Yea, I tried the same settings as you did above, still was able to see and upload!!! Very intriguing indeed! What if you took your work PC off the network and just assign different subnet mask to it and connect the DS202 directly to the PC. Would this work?

T-bone !

I tested the new IDE release.. same problem..

I did some more testings, it looks like it has someting to do with
the size on the PC's network subnet.
If I use a pc with a full C subnet eg. netmask=255.255.255.0
everything works just fine.
My normal PC at work is using a netmask=255.255.255.128
and here it just won't work.

My conclution is that the IDE has an issue with not handeling
smaller subnet's than a full C net in a correct way.

There might also be a problem in the DS/EM202 firmware with
"small" subnet's. It did'nt work in my first test, but I'll do some more testing to be sure. If I use a full C net in the 202 it works OK.

Uploading firmware using Device Explorer works, uploading a project from TIDE doesn't.

I do not currently have another Tibbo device to test with.

The code I'm using to initialise the port to 2400 baud, 8 bits, no parity, 1 or 2 stop bits:
ser.num=0
ser.interchardelay=2
ser.bits=PL_SER_BB_8
ser.parity=PL_SER_PR_NONE
ser.flowcontrol=DISABLED
ser.baudrate=ser.div9600*4 '2400 bud
ser.enabled=YES

Using this, on_ser_data_arrival() never triggers.

It does sound like there are problems with the serial side. So, just to double sure, even if you try to update the EM1202's firmware using Device Explorer through the serial connection, it will not initiate the upgrade, right?

Have you tried the same cable with another Tibbo Device? Does it work properly with the other Tibbo Device?

handling HD44780 is a simple task, you must present data on 4 I/O and control a little bit of others, so you can write your own routines. I'm new to Tibbo but spent some year on PICs and other micros. If you want we can cooperate since in the future I'll need as well.

I believe it's a firmware-dependant memory constraint.

We are trying to promote programmability, and this is where we're focusing most of our efforts. If you solved it using Tibbo BASIC -- that's actually going in the direction we want to go.

flow control uses RTS / CTS to determine the direction of communication. Since the pin state never changes on the side that did not turn on the flow control, the data was never allowed to pass. If you are interested, you can read more here:
