We had FIVE drives go out on a jobsite simultaneously... they had all been installed at th same time and had sequenced serial numbers, so were likely from the same run.
Lacie replaced the supplies, but the customer demanded a different brand, considering their daily backups could have been at risk for data loss.
They were 500GB USB drives.

Good idea. This has also happened to one of my co-workers, so I am not alone regarding this issue in this city.
The Starbucks in question is at the Regent Mall in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
The manager said something about being short staffed, but they had two employees, a full compliment of coffee, and I was the ONLY customer there at that time. Hell, if you're so short staffed, put the damn thermos thingy on the desk and just take my cash, I'll pour my own damn coffee.
TerraTony reported a problem in Starbucks on August 19, 2008 15:46:
Customer Service Issues SUCKI understand that people don't enjoy making low wages, but they shouldn't take it out on their customers. In general there has been a trend towards worse and worse customer service these days.
At Starbucks the other day I arrived at 10min to 8. They open this store at 8, and I was waiting patiently. An employee came out to get something from a vending machine, I asked him what my chances of getting a coffee at 8am was, and he shrugged his shoulders. I then asked, "Well, do you have any coffee on?" and he said, "yeah."
When 8am finally rolled around I went in the unlocked doors, and the lady said, "Oh we're not open yet, could you come back later please."
As a business, when someone comes by at 5 to 8 even, I will open the doors to serve them. It's called good customer service. She could have easily just poured me a coffee, it would have taken the same amount of time as asking me to leave, though she may have had to stop chatting with the cleaner to do it.
They don't even have to mix a straight coffee... here in Canada we have Tim Hortons, Robins and other places making every coffee to order, and they can pour me a coffee at 8am, let me tell you.
