This problem is actually with Paypal Australia and started at the beginning of this year when I was moving from Australia to the US and selling some items I no longer needed.

In January, I had sold a computer to a customer via eBay Australia. It was in perfect condition when it left my hands and the device was apparently damaged during shipping. The customer even admited to me in an email exchange that she noticed damage to the shipping box and yet accepted and signed for the package without checking that the computer was working.

In addition, the conditions of the eBay sale (as clearly stated in the auction) were, no refunds, no returns, all sales final, no responsibility taken for damage during shipping. Both the customer and Paypal were repeatedly made aware of these conditions.

On behalf of the buyer's complaint, some Paypal employee(s) acted without consulting me and even though they were advised of the conditions of the transaction, they instructed the customer to send the computer back to me (which I couldn't accept as I was no longer in the country) and took money out of my account and giving it back to the customer that claimed the damaged computer.

This caused a negative balance on my Paypal account, then my account was limited, and now it's locked.

To top it off, I just found out that Paypal has sent a collection agency after me!! I'm not even in the country so I can't respond! Ever since I've found out I've been totally stressed out/frustrated/upset.

As a warning to eBay sellers: your terms of sale means nothing... zero... zilch to Paypal.
