We haven't exposed our import monitoring through the UI just yet, but we do have the data available and monitor the health of the all events that have importers. The importers will not create duplicate attendees or duplicate invitations, only new attendees will get imported.

I've done this twice recently. One time by using the Reports and applying some of the options (click show options) and secondly by exporting to CSV, opening it up in Numbers (or Excel) and applying some conditional formatting.

Disable the create account link if it's invite only.

I think that you should disable the create an account link on the sign in page if it's invite only. I was saddened to attempt to signup for a service I know nothing about only to get a message "Sorry it's ripe is currently invite only. Don't worry though we're working really hard to make it public. " :)

Normally I'll have DL open but not the activity window while I have a book in hand, if I could hit a hotkey to open up the video window that'd be awesome.
