The other option, which is not really a work-around, is to right-click your site thumbnail and select "Change Image..." and select something else. That will avoid loading Flash on the thumbnail view when you try and connect and therefore avoid the crash with Flash.

Just to clarify, this is a Safari 4 beta bug, not our bug. If you downgrade back to 3 Coda will work as expected. Hopefully Apple will fix this issue before Safari 4 goes final.

When you save, the external drive could be spinning up which could delay the file saving. Could you detach the drive and see if you still see the slow saving.

Coda is fully supported on Intel and PowerPC. When you have a slow save, do you have a mounted network drive? This could cause saving to slow down unexpectedly.
