zalary replied on December 16, 2009 20:04 to the question "Domain Mapping to Multiple blogs within same account" in Six Apart:
Hi Cecily,
The CNAME for each domain/weblog would point to
[subdomain].typepad.com
regardless of which individual blog the domain is to be mapped. You select which blog to map the domain in TypePad only, not at the domain registrar, so the CNAME Record will be the *same* for any domains mapped to your TypePad account.
When you go through the domain mapping wizard under Account > Domain Mapping, the last step is to choose either your whole account (Main Site) or just one blog or album. At Step 3, you will choose the specific blog to map the domain.
More information is available in the Setting Up Domain Mapping article here:
http://help.sixapart.com/tp/us/domain...
If you need any further help with this, please let us know or feel free to open a Help ticket from your account and we'll get you set up.
Thanks so much,
Zalary

Hi,
Right now there isn't a way to customize this link, but we are always looking for ways to enhance TypePad for our users, so we will definitely keep this in mind as a possible future feature for the system.
Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know this is something you'd be interested in.

Unable to install HootSuite on first gen iPodI've updated m ipod software and am using the most recent version (3.1.2). When trying to add it from the app store, I get an error about needing a mic. When I try to add it from iTunes directly, it just says it was not installed because it is incompatible.

zalary replied on August 28, 2009 15:00 to the question "Additional blog urls?" in Six Apart:
Hi there,
Each TypePad Account is allotted one subdomain:
[subdomain].typepad.com
All blogs that you create will be off of that main URL. For example:
http://example.typepad.com/blog1
http://example.typepad.com/my_weblog
http://example.typepad.com/random
If you'd like a different or additional subdomain, you would need to open another account.
Alternately, you might want to look into Domain Mapping, which would allow you to give each blog its own unique URL:
http://help.sixapart.com/tp/us/domain...
We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Zalary

When I attempted to view your domain mapping setup, I received the following message:
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached
You should contact your current registrar or host regarding this error.
Until it is corrected with your registrar/host, you'll need to deactivate the domain and republish your blog.
You find complete instructions here:

If you need help deactivating or reactivating your domain mapping, please feel free to open a help ticket and we'd be happy to help!

zalary replied on July 14, 2009 03:46 to the question "Post Display Preferences..." in Six Apart:
Hi,
Changing the display of the Post Title and Blog Title in the option you show does not change the URL of the post, so you won't have any broken links. It will only change the order of the text in the title tag for your pages.
The format of the post URL has always been as it is now
http://www.takerootandwrite.com/2009/...
with the blog URL, followed by the year, month, and then the title or assigned permalink. There isn't a way to change this format, but it will always be consistent across your archives.
We hope this helps. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
Thanks,
Zalary

Hi,
We are always looking for ways to enhance TypePad for our users, so we will keep this in mind!
For now, the best way to post from a Smartphone is to use the email posting option. You can find out more about that at:

zalary replied on June 20, 2009 14:05 to the problem "A persistant problem with domain mapping." in Six Apart:
Hi Katie,
Once your CNAME is set and you see the TypePad favicon when you view the URL, you can set the domain mapping to Active under Control Panel > Site Access > Domain Mapping.
This changed with our recent migration and is different from the old behavior of being able to see the weblog at the domain name before setting it to active, and we are working to better document this behavior.
We apologize for the confusion!
Zalary :)
