Hi Antonella --
When you are editing an event, there is a field for a Video URL. You can just paste the URL to the YouTube page (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJ...) and we will figure out how to embed the video.
Give it a try!

Zack Steinkamp replied on March 27, 2009 17:07 to the question "Can our existing timeline be copied to create a second version of it?" in Dipity:
Hi Linda -
You can do these steps:
1) create a new timeline that will be the "expanded version"
2) go to "Add a Source"
3) Select "Another Dipity Timeline" as a source type, and paste the URL to the original version
Now you can add more events or sources to your expanded version. They will not show up on the original version, but any events added to the original version will show up on the expanded version.
Does that help?
Thanks,

Hi Sam --
We have seen this problem intermittently, so you're not alone.
The solution is to remove all dipity.com cookies from your browser, then log in again. If you need instructions on how to clear cookies, let me know what browser you're using and I'll give you a step-by-step.
Sorry this happened -- we'll look deeper into the problem. It's probably just a small thing on our end.

Zack Steinkamp replied on February 18, 2009 02:55 to the question "How can I export my event text if my rss feed hasn't refreshed?" in Dipity:
Lisa -- What are you using to view the RSS feed? Likely if there is some delay in seeing updates then it is due to the frequency at which the RSS reader is looking for updates.
If there's a "Force Update" feature in your RSS reader software, maybe that will help.
Additionally, if you can provide any details from your group members on what sort of trouble they were having in seeing your timeline that would help. There may be some bug that we're unaware of.
Thanks so much,

Hi Lisa --
Can you explain more what it is you are trying to do?
If you want your group to be able to overlay other content on your timeline there are a couple of options.
1) Have them add your timeline to theirs as a source. Rather than using the RSS feed, select "Another Dipity Timeline" from the sources page. Paste the URL to the timeline without /rss, and they will have a live connection to your timeline that is always up to date.
2) Have each group member maintain their own timeline, then you can overlay their timelines onto yours using the same mechanism as above.
Let me know if this makes things clearer or more confusing.
Thanks!
