Can I subscribe a wordpress blog if it's hosted on my web server?

Can I include a wordpress blog if it's hosted on my web server? The username is admin, which obviously won't work for the login credentials from ping.fm. So, I created a new user for the blog, then subscribed that account to ping.fm. However, I keep getting the message that Wordpress is unable to verify my credentials. Needless to say, I *can* login with that account at the wp homepage. Any ideas? thanks!
