Can I use Ping.fm with Identi.ca via OpenID?
Thanks for quickly supporting Identi.ca. I registered there with my OpenID, but Ping couldn't authenticate. Any thoughts?

Inappropriate? We're testing the Identi.ca waters. Also working in some OpenID authentication. Keep in the lookout.

Inappropriate?Got a workaround: Logout from identi.ca. Use the identi.ca login screen and ask for a new password. You'll get an email with a link. Give yourself a new password. You can then enter that at Ping.fm, and everything's good!
Sean, thanks for working on OpenID. I look forward to that.

Inappropriate? That doesn't work for me: identi.ca never sends me a password recovery email (I assume because I originally signed up using OpenID).
Just to clarify, I do the following steps:
1. Logout from identi.ca
2. Click Login
3. Click "Lost or forgotten password?"
4. Provide my screen name or email address (I've tried both) and click Recover.
I've checked that my email is correct on my profile, so that's not the problem.
Is there any way to access identi.ca directly with the OpenID credentials?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I tried the workaround again today (requesting password recovery from identi.ca) and it worked, so I'm good to go now. Thanks for your help!

Inappropriate?I appreciate this problem is probably being worked on, but just to add my experience in case it helps identify what's wrong:
I've tried the above workaround (twice now since joining both indenti.ca and ping.fm 24 hours ago), but no joy.
I received the "recover password" e-mail on both attempts, but on clicking the link, my (IE7) browser couldn't open it (It asked if I want to find a program on the internet to open it), so I copied and pasted it into the address bar. It then went to an identi.ca web page, but the page said there was "no such recovery code".

Inappropriate? You don't receive a recovery code, you should be redirected to a page where you can enter your new password.

Thanks for the response, Sandy, but that's not what happens with me. I wish it did! What I'd really like now is to be able to delete my Identi.ca account so I can re-create one with the same user name and e-mail address, but NOT using OpenID - but at the moment, as far as I can see, there's no way to delete an existing Identi.ca account - unless I'm missing something! -
Inappropriate?Instead of requesting a new password you can specify your own password. Just leave the "current password" field empty and enter your new password twice. Then you have a username and a password for identi.ca.
I’m sorted

Inappropriate?I've done both suggestions and unfortunately I still can't get the Identi.ca network added to my Ping.fm profile. I even logged in/out - maybe I'll have to wait for the system to cache or something. I'll try again tomorrow and see what happens.
I’m waiting...
