Any TweetDeck support to Ping.fm ?
I am thinking about integrating this support. Would this be useful to users.

Inappropriate?I just installed TweetDeck but I can't start to use it because It won't post to ping.fm which publishes my updates to many other services..
It would be great if you implemented this...
I myself was considering to do it..
lets see..
Any idea how I can post to facebook from TweetDeck??
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate? It would be great if TweetDeck added Ping.fm support. Unfortunately, we do not control that, it's up to TweetDeck. You can add your vote to their uservoice here: http://tweetdeck.uservoice.com/pages/...
-
Inappropriate?rungss, you can post to facebook by clicking the facebook icon within the tweetdeck app
adam, thanks for the update. any chance of you guys approaching tweetdeck about this?
I’m splendid

Inappropriate?Hi All,
I've returned back to a Ping.fm development project I've called iPingfm. iPingfm, will add support toward Twitter Desktop applications, e.g. TweetDeck.
P.S. TweetDeck may in fact soon support this on their own. By independently creating this project will allow me to add some additional extentions beyond certain features of Ping.fm integrations.

Inappropriate?I really like this idea. That would be so nice. I wish I had time to develop, there would be such a huge list of things I would code. :)

Inappropriate?Hi To All,
I had a very successful past week developing a mashup of Ping.fm to TweetDeck using VS2008 C++, CURL. This add-on will ( NOT ) require ( .NET ), but will for now be a Windows only. Hopefully I'll have a beta to testing sometime next week of July 06 09.

Inappropriate?Hi To All,
As of July 20-09 week, I am completing the basic interface of a Windows Desktop Application Add-On that will provide functionality of Ping.fm APIs as an integration into TweetDeck. It's maturing quite nicely and the interaction within TweetDeck with this add-on is providing an easily method for posting through Ping.fm while in an active session of TweetDeck.
I'll soon be out of this Alpha state moving into a Beta phase.
It will be a FREE application to all !
Would any of you like to help me test when the add-on is ready ?

Inappropriate?Hi Sean and dan,
Here's snap-shot of the the Ping.fm add-on activated while in TweetDeck.
Note: When a user right-mouse clicks in the edit area of TweetDeck a secondary activative menu for Ping.fm will dynamically popup adjacent immediately to the side of the TweetDeck's mini-menu for edit.
I could have integrated buttons at the top of the edit window but chose this implementation instead.

Any comments so far ?

Inappropriate?i like the idea but im a little unsure how the user will know to right click without any visual cues? if someone is new to this kind of environment you are introducing another behaviour that they will have to adopt, in addition to tweetdeck's native behaviours, and for that reason alone i fear this method would fail usability testing.
although i'm a little unclear about how the secondary ping menu operates in your illustration, i don't see an issue with it in principal. that said, i would like to see it launched from an additional button alongside the existing buttons (fbk etc) at the top of the user interface instead.
congratulations on getting this far though, have you had the add on working successfully?
look forward to sean's feedback
I’m optimistic

Inappropriate?Hi dan,
Thank you for the points of value you've mentioned !
I am going to take 1/2 the day and complete some underlying coding for this little add-on and then switch back and place the Ping.fm buttons at the top of the TweetDeck edit session window like you've mentioned.
Yes, all of the basic Ping.fm API calls have been tested successful with the code for this app.
I'm in Tulsa, Ok. Central Standard Time -6 GMT.
So, check back and I'll try to get another image snap-shot.
If today's work is successful, I should have a version wed or thru for testing if you like to try. Also, remember, this is windows only application.

Inappropriate?Hi guys,
One of the concerns I had about the buttons at the top of the TweetDeck edit window was that of a statement the author made concerning monetizing on TweetDeck. He suggested that this may be obtainable by means of Corporate Skinables to the TweetDeck's UI. I felt like the area to place buttons in what seems to be EMPTY may be subject to this monetizing possiblity.

Inappropriate?Hi guys,
Here's a version of what I call ( IPing.fm ) add-on.

Inappropriate?looks great richard. you're doing a great job. and yes, would be very interested in testing this for you.
hope adam's email request isn't bad news; this could be just what many of us have been looking for.
keep up the good work and keep us informed of developments!

Hi dan,
Adam had a couple of questions about the actions of IPing.fm add-on. I believe I addressed most of his concerns. I mentioned that you'd consider testing when the Beta is ready.
Thank you for your time and interest to help me with the Beta testing !
I'll stay in touch with you Dan.

Inappropriate?Hi guys,
I failed to mention that the add-on IPing.fm will also work on the Seesmic like that of TweetDeck. You might say, I am getting the most out of this framework, haha.
Seemic may indeed come out with Ping.fm support like that of Twhirl but until they do the add-on will meet the need.

Inappropriate?Hi dan, adam, sean,
I am still making progress on the IPing.fm addon to bring Ping.fm to TweetDeck. I ran into an EVENT handler problem that I believe I've got control of now. TweetDeck uses the Adobe's AIR providing Windowless Controls only is a challenge. I chose not to inject a DLL into TweetDeck or not that of incorporation of MS Detours either.
I'll keep posting here my progress and hopefully soon testing of a Beta.

Inappropriate?Hi,
I've completed the alpha development cycle for IPingfm addon. I'm now ready to provide a beta release for testing. Over the weekend I'll build an install for those who would like to help me test.
Dan, please send me an email address to where I can forward a beta version of IPingfm addon.
If anyone else would like to test IPingfm please forward to me a legit email address at ( idevfh@gmail.com )
Note: You must be registered here on Ping.fm's Getsatisfaction.
IPingfm addon is CLOSED from a Public Beta.
Here's a couple of images showing the finished interface U.I. within TweetDeck.

I checked back on the Ping.fm settings and seen that Status was unchecked on the Twitter service. Checking back on solved the problem. Sorry to have troubled you guys. I am continuing the install for this addon of IPing.fm to TweetDeck.

I get "problem opening ipingfm.txt" but it opens and runs ok... then also the "prefix" button moves the window to the center of the screen. -

yeah it looked about the same. it is overlapping the facebook button. maybe because my username on twitter is longer than yours so the measurement is off. your api key isn't approved so i didn't get a chance to test that yet.. i'll approve it and try again. -

Inappropriate?Hi All,
I believe I've corrected the ERROR issues mentioned by Adam.
Please let me know if any issue still exist.
Note: IPingfm addon to TweetDeck is a work in Progress.
P.S. I used a system tray app called TweetMem to incorporate the IPingfm addon. I may seperate IPingfm into it's own system tray app.
You may have noticed that selecting 'Activate Memory Recovery For TweetDeck' will allow you to MINIMIZE TweetDeck to system tray when TweetDeck is minimized. To restore TweetDeck to desktop just Left-Mouse Double click on the TweetMem system tray ICON.

Inappropriate?been away on my travels for a bit so have missed out on all the action! where are you guys with this now? is the beta version compatible with the new release of tweetdeck?
I’m just splendid

Inappropriate?Hi Dan,
I've been busy like everyone else on other development ( http://bit.ly/3uVLM9 ). When I 1st released the IPingfm to TweetDeck Adam tried to do some testing but he also was very busy. Adam, I do appreciate the time you gave me on this effort. No one else seemed interested and so I backed off the development.
If you'd like to help continue the process, I'd be glad to get this addon correct for users to use within TweetDeck. Let me know and I'll follow up here with you if you have the time to test out IPingfm betas until it's a good addon.
IF you do decide to follow up and help with the development then tell me what Operating System and version of TweetDeck current.
Regards,
richard

Inappropriate?happy to help richard, i am looking forward to being able to manage all of my networking from one interface, particularly as support for facebook and myspace interaction is now so great with the latest release of tweetdeck.
operating system is win xp and tweetdeck is latest release, which at the time of writing is v0.30.5 i think.

Inappropriate?Hi Dan,
Good !!!
I can start back on the IPingfm addon to TweetDeck on Friday 09-25-09.
I am at GMT-6 or Central Standard Time Tulsa, Oklahoma. I'm sure what time you could allocate to test and report back efficiently between us.
We can use Dropbox application which is FREE to pass the IPingfm.exe back and forth for testing.
Will this work for you Dan ?
If we do this beta, I want to get it right so other using TweetDeck and Pingfm can appreciate the efforts on both our parts.
richard -
Inappropriate?i am in london so GMT. let me know what you have in mind, im not sure if the time difference makes testing an issue as i wont be able to test when you're online and vice versa but if there's no particular rush and we can do this back and forth then i'm game. let me know.
I’m unsure

Inappropriate?Hi Dan,
Friday 09-25-09 I am having to work out a stats issue with my addons with Mozilla today. They are pretty slow when getting issues resolved sometimes. I had planned to work on the IPingfm but I've got to get this Mozilla problem corrected before I can.
I can adjust my schedule to your hours if you'd like to work on the project I called orginally IPingfm addon to TweetDeck.
Let me know what hours you'd like to communicate London time that you'll be available and I adjust my schedule so we can get the project started.
I'll be available Saturday 09-26-09 to start if you like or can wait until Monday 09-28-09. I don't work on SUNDAY's, church and family time.

Inappropriate?Hi Dan,

Inappropriate?Hi Tracey and Dan,
I've been working on a Firefox add-on the past couple of months. Haven't had any time to give to the TweetDeck and Ping. I started out with a good foundation but I alos needed to correct some issues. I'm not sure if there would be alot of interest if I went back to the development.
Thank you guys for the follow up !
Richard
