Bookmarking Plurks
This keeps coming up in plurks virtually every day, but I don't see a thread about it here. I'm referring to the desire expressed by many plurkers for some way for users to mark the plurks that they want to follow. It's really annoying to start participating in an interesting discussion and not be able to find it again amid the constant barrage of new plurks and responses.

Inappropriate?I find that following them is easy enough with the "new responses" filter... but it's when I want to REFERENCE THEM (when there has been no activity) that I run into the issue the first user complains of. Search seems not quite idea, and a plurk-centric way would be nice... as opposed to opening the plurk page and using a bookmarking service.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?I think they are working on adding features to help with this. Something is definitely needed.

Inappropriate?I think bookmarking will be really useful. Sometimes there's a great thread and you have to deplurk, but want to come back to it and it gets lost...or when there's a super high activity night. There's got to be something that we can use to distinguish posts that we really want to go back to. Rock on.
I’m thankful for Greg posting this.

Inappropriate?Would love to see this feature implemented as I do not always have the time to comment on some of the thoughtful discussions happening on Plurk.

Inappropriate?I think a "permalink" for each plurk entry would be ideal. I don't think we need complex bookmarking system. There's already a steep enough learning curve on plurk for average people.
-
Inappropriate?I think "bookmarking" was maybe the wrong language. They already have a perma-link (for example: http://www.plurk.com/p/1x3k4 ). These can be bookmarked with external services.
What I'd *LOVE* is simply a way to "fav" a plurk, and then add a 4th timeline filter called "Favorites". (or something equally plurky in name).
I’m excited

Inappropriate?clickykbd: try friending more than 18 people and find out how "easy" it is to follow the threads that you're involved in, then perhaps I'll think that you're qualified to comment on it.
jery: every plurk has a permalink. click on it to get the responses window, and then look in the bottom RH corner.
clickykbd: bookmark/favorite is used interchangeably all over the Internet. What's more, if you search out the plurks that discuss this issue, you'll find that it's the same on Plurk as well. If you want to be picky about language, my preferred term is 'tag.' -
Inappropriate? Not to get into semantics... but I think the difference between a bookmark and a fav is about how the list of such things is presented back to the user. I don't consider my favs on flickr (for example) bookmarks at all... and a fav filter'd timeline would also not "feel" like bookmarks to me.
Also, friendship totals shouldn't play a role in such a decision. A feature that is implemented should be equally needed/useful to the entire user base. ;-) (excepting the event that "pro" accounts come into the picture).

Inappropriate? The bookmarking feature is a very needed feature and I think a must. There could be a star or icon the the left of the initial plurk window like the mute toggle that could lead to a page like the plurk page that had a list of the plurk page or initial plurk window.
I’m begging

Inappropriate?I would also like to see a bookmarking/favouriting/flagging type of feature.

Inappropriate?i think this is a great idea! having favorite plurks can help me find which plurk conversations i find insightful, informative, or even entertaining. and if i find no use for them later on, i can just remove them from my favorites list. i've had the problem before of having a great plurk conversation with friends but couldn't find it amidst the many plurks in my timeline. i sure hope they have some feature that can mark favorite plurks!
I’m thinking this is a great idea!

Inappropriate?I would love to see this implemented in some way. A way outside of just the "responded" tab, which, is great and everything but I respond to a lot of plurks that don't necessarily become conversations.
