Plurk capriciously marks recent unread messages as read.
Plurk is reducing the number of unread messages without rhyme or reason. When I signed in this morning, I had approximately 86 unread messages. I responded to *ONE* of them and signed out for a few hours. When I just logged back in, the number was down to under 70. This situation has been going on for at least a few weeks and it's extremely difficult to identify which message threads are being affected—in part because Plurk has also randomly been misidentifying the number of unread messages in a thread (I've seen them with "0" as the unread count... showing as unread).

Inappropriate?I've noticed this problem, too. And it is a big problem. People (at least my friends) would like to know what happened while they were offline, and to do this, they need to know about every updated conversations, every new plurks.
Some of my friends already have left plurk, some of them are frustrated, and thinking about leaving. Some of them are making jokes
A recent conversation:
- Plurk is shit again
- So, what's the news?
I think plurk is a great way to combine blogging, im, and forums. But in time people will have enough. Unpredictable downtimes, maintenances without notice, unknown errors, private plurks viewable by everyone, etc. They are annoying.
But not being able to see every unread plurks is a very frustrating problem. It makes plurk feels useless. I have to spend hours to look trough every plurk to see is there anything i haven't noticed.
Please, correct this problem as soon as possible.
I’m very frustrated

Inappropriate? The problem continues to plague Plurk. Whereas before there was some hope of seeing all my "unread" threads if I carefully scrolled back before refreshing my timeline, now I'm discovering that threads all over my timeline that have new messages since my last login are being marked "read." It's virtually impossible to keep up with conversations (and I don't have THAT many friends).
Is anyone at Plurk paying attention to this problem? Is there any update to it being resolved?
I’m disappointed in Plurk... again.

Inappropriate?Yes - I never mark as read as sometimes is hours before I get back and I have hundreds of people I follow so I find the auto marking really annoying... I generally skim back and look at unread messages as I get time... when they are auto marked, I've go no idea what I have and haven't read. I believe this should be an option, not a default setting.

Inappropriate?I also have this problem - and sometimes the reverse issue where read plurks are marked as unread. Certainly this causes me to miss numerous messages, which is, yes, frustrating. I would greatly appreciate it if it could be repaired. Thanks in advance, guys!

Inappropriate? We are aware of this problem, but a solution is not that easy - especially to scale it out. I have increased the count and in the future we will look for other ways to maintain the unread list.

Amir
