a better way to stay current on group posts

I have a suggestion to improve interaction on the group pages. Would it be possible to add under each blog post something to the effect of "last comment on 10-22-08" or something similar? When I go to the West Tennessee Discussion Group page, for example, all that is displayed are the original postings themselves, and I have to load each one to see if there are any new comments. Since I'm not an administrator of that group, I don't even see a count of how many replies there are and it is hard to remember how many there were last time you checked even when that is available.
