Different callback numbers for same friend
I have for a given friend 2 numbers in the same country (home & mobile) but the callback number Rebtel assigned is different for each, meaning she/he must call a different number depending on the number she/he is calling from...
I understand this may happen if the callback number was already assigned (I share the same friend as my wife) but in order to find these discrepancies easily, Rebtel website should display (friend can call you back - find out how) the callback number not by friend as today but by friend/number combination which is more accurate.
Having the option to display and download a list/matrix of friend, friend number, callback number would be very useful.

Inappropriate?Hi Yannick,
Unfortunately it does happen that your friend will receive 2 different call back numbers to reach you through Rebtel and we realise that this can be frustrating and inconvenient.
I think your idea about a downloadable, complete list of all the numbers related to your Rebtel account is really great. We're always working on improving the service so we truly appreciate it when our users take the time to contact us and give us their feedback. Hopefully we'll be able to incorporate a "Friends List"-type feature soon that will make it much easier to keep track of all the numbers associated with your calls.
Thanks again for taking the time to write us!

Inappropriate? Thanks Danielle for your answer. While a friend's list may be useful and considered for the future, it is the only way to tell, easily at least, if a given friend has different Rebtel callback numbers by number (home, cell,...).
I have been back and forth with Rebtel Customer Support on the issue pointing at the entries in my address book which are inconsistent and I also know who "hijacked" the number that Rebtel commonly assigns to me... my wife. We both have a Rebtel account and share some of the same friends phone numbers in Belgium. Depending on who added the friend's number first, Rebtel allocates either ...298 or ...299. The result is that we end up having a mix of ...298 and ..299 numbers to share with our friends.
To illustrate how confusing it can get:
- if my sister dials from her cell the ...298, it rings my phone, if she dials ...299 it's my wife's
- if my sister dials from her landline the ...298, it rings my wife's phone and the 299 rings mine.
While I imagine it would be an easy fix on your side, that is switching the numbers in Rebtel's database so that our friends have one consistent number to call either my wife or me, I was stunned by Customer Support answer: "no problem, that's the way it is".
I had expected at least an acknowledgement of the issue and a rationale for not fixing it. Needless to say that while I was a regular user of Rebtel, I am now looking at alternatives if this cannot be resolved.
Note: if this helps, I did try to delete the friend from both my account and my wife's, and add them back (in my account first) but to no avail: Rebtel recalls what callback it assigned earlier.
Even if my issues get resolved, the design/logic to assign callback numbers should check if a Rebtel number was already assigned in the country for another friend: if so, use that one if still available (that is, no other Rebtel account has added that friend phone yet).
Rgds,
Yannick
