Dashboard: display the time of the latest upload.
Could you add in the dashboard an indication of when the last data upload was made.
Also, the data collector has a button "send update now". I do not know if it is technically feasible (maybe not, due to browser security), but could you add the same button in the dashboard as well. That would be called something like "Fetch update now".

Inappropriate?There actually is an indication in the dashboard when the last upload was received.
Have a look on the right side just beneath the buttons (dashboard, list view etc.). -
