Inappropriate? It sounds like the updater application RescueTimeStart.exe is having a problem replacing itself. A couple of things to try.
1. Exit RescueTime then go to the Task Manager to see if there is still a RescueTimeStart.exe process running. If so, select it from the Task Manager and try to "end process". If it gives you an error saying that it can not be removed then try step 2. If it does quit, then try restarting RescueTime and doing a "Check for update" from the RescueTime menu.
2. Sometimes the RescueTimeStart task seems to get stuck and requires a restart of the computer to get things moving again. Try restarting your computer and re-running the update.
I'm still looking into the issues with RescueTimeStart and have not yet been able to pinpoint what is going on with the updater program. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the advise. I didn't get a chance to try it out because after rebooting a couple of times it seems to have taken care of the problem itself. Thanks anyways :)
I’m happy it works, sad I couldn't try the proposed fix
