Keyboard use only = idle time?
It seems that rescue time only logs "mouse time" on my computer. I spend a lot of time on keyboard only tasks and it seems that rescue time thinks that I am idle during that time. Has anyone else had this happen? Am I not doing something right?

Inappropriate?That doesn't seem right... It's pretty easy to test, though.
You can open the data collector next to any app where you suspect this might happen and go to the "debug" tab. Don't type or move your mouse and you should see the idle counter "counting". Start typing and see if the counter resets or now. It should!
RescueTime will keep logging with up to 2 minutes of idle time, so it should catch MOST "stare at the screen" moments.
If you're seeing underreporting, you might have a bug. Drop us a line via http://www.rescuetime.com/help and we'll see if we can see anything weird.

Inappropriate?I have to admit a mistake. I am using RescueIDLETime also and it appears that that program is the one I am referring to. Not Rescue Time.

You are correct in that RescueIdleTime only looks to mouse movements to determine idle time. The program is a quick hack in order to allow RescueTime to tracking the "idle" moment s of our lives but It has not been enhanced with a more appropriate idle detection mechanism. I believe Derringer was working on a better detection technique but has not provided any code for the modifications.
