RescueTime runs cpu at 100%
I noticed a few days ago that my computer fan was running all the time. I'm working on a PowerBook G4 running OS 10.5.8. Today I launched Activity monitor, and the cpu was at 100%, even after I closed all apps. I noticed that even after I quit RescueTime, it was still running as a process, so I quit that and the cpu immediately dropped to about 15%. As soon as I started RescueTime again, the cpu jumped to 100%, and again, as soon as I quit the process, cpu usage dropped.
I uninstalled RescueTime with AppDelete so that pref files, logs, etc were deleted. I downloaded RescueTime, installed it, and as soon as I launched the app, the cpu jumped to 100%, but no RescueTime icon appeared in the menubar, so there was no way for me to check preferences or do a debug. I tried restarting my laptop as well in between reinstalls of RescueTime, but that didn't make a difference. I tried the uninstall/reinstall a few times, always with the same result.
Other useful info: I was using the RescueTime version with the focus feature, and the cpu problem seemed to occur after I used the focus feature a few days ago. The version I downloaded and installed today was 2.1.0.657.

Inappropriate?Dan, we're looking into this issue. We believe that it is an Intel vs PowerPC build issue.
In order to get back up and running, download the older version of RescueTime from here:
https://www.rescuetime.com/installers...
I'll let you know as soon as we have a fix!
Thank you -
Thanks for the link to the older version! I installed it without any problem. Activity monitor shows that cpu usage is normal. When RescueTime launches, the cpu jumps to 100% for a few seconds then falls to normal/low levels. -
I am having the exact same problem on a G5 PowerMac, I am using the paid version because I want the focus feature, I was hoping that I would not have to use Slife but maybe that the case.....Let me know
